A twine knotter () for forming two knots () in a pair of twine strands comprising: a drive pulley (), a bill hook () rotatably driven by the drive pulley () about a knotter axis (K) to form two successive knots () in the pair of twine strands (), a twine holding device () for clamping the pair of twine strands () between a first clamping element () and a second clamping element (), and a twine knife () for cutting the pair of twine strands (). The second clamping element is driven rotatably about a twine holder axis (G) by the drive pulley such that the rotatable second clamping element completes two rotations for one rotation of the drive pulley, and the twine holder axis (G) and the knotter axis (K) enclose an angle of less than 45° with one another.

Twine knotter and method of forming two knots in a twine

A twine knotter including a bill hook for forming a knot in a twine, a twine holding device for clamping twine with a twine holder and a twine disk rotatable relative thereto, the twine disk having recesses over its circumference for receiving twine, a twine feeding device for feeding twine over the bill hook into the twine holding device, and a twine knife for cutting twine. The twine disk has at least two pairs of recesses over the circumference, each pair of recesses having a front recess in a direction of rotation of the twine disk for receiving a single twine strand or a single twine strand pair and a rear recess for receiving a further single twine strand or said single twine strand pair.

A centrally lubricated twine knotter for a press with twine tying, comprising at least one knotter driving disc, a knotter chassis, a knotter assembly and if necessary a knife lever, which can at least partly be supplied with lubricant, in the case of which the knotter driving disc is fastened on the knotter driveshaft that is driveable about its axis in a rotationally fixed manner, the knotter chassis is assigned to the knotter driving disc in such a manner that the knotter chassis with respect to the twine knotter stands fixed in space, the knotter chassis carries the knotter assembly forming the one or two knots in succession and if necessary the knife lever driven by a cam track of the knotter driving disc, the knotter assembly, comprises at least one twine holder and a knotter hook and for lubricating at least some of the bearings of a plurality of the driven components from the group of the knotter driving disc, knife lever, twine holder, knotter hook a central lubricating arrangement is provided, wherein an independent lubricant receiving and distribution housing is provided, the interior of which on the one hand is connected via a connecting line to a lubricant reservoir or a lubricant delivery means such as a lubricant pump and on the other hand directly to lubricant supply lines for the simultaneous supply of some or all bearings of the twine knotter by means of lubricant outlet openings directly fluidically connected to the former and that the lubricant receiving and distribution housing is docked to the knotter chassis on the outside via fastening means.

A twine knotter has a knotter frame (). An intermediate shaft () is rotatably supported on the knotter frame () around a longitudinal axis L. A shaft input () connects the intermediate shaft () to an output element () of a knotter drive shaft (). At least one knotter hook shaft () is rotatably supported around a knotter hook axis (K, K) on the knotter frame (). The at least one knotter hook shaft () is drive-wise connected to the intermediate shaft (). The at least one knotter hook shaft carries a knotter hook () to form a knot. The twine knotter () is formed as an independent assembly. The twine knotter () is drive-wise detachably connectable, via the shaft input () of the intermediate shaft (), to the knotter drive shaft ().

Cutting blades and counterblades are presented having long edge life for chopping devices equipped with blades mounted on rotating drums and with counterblades which fit into the gaps between the blades, the blades and/or counterblades being produced by rolling at least one of the longitudinal edges of a piece of flat strip material to form a slightly rounded, prismatic cutting edge, the rolling being continued until satisfactory sharpness is obtained.

A double-knot twine-knotter unit with twine tying having a plurality of double-knot twine knotters combined on one knotter drive shaft. Each double-knot twine knotter comprises at least one knotter drive disc, a knotter chassis, a knotter assembly and a blade lever. The knotter drive disc is fastened fixedly on the knotter drive shaft which can be driven about its axis. The knotter chassis carries a knotter assembly, which forms two knots following one another, and the blade lever which is driven by a cam track of the knotter drive disc. The knotter assembly is arranged so as to overlap in the axial direction of the knotter drive shaft with the knotter drive disc of the adjacent double-knot twine knotter on a part length of the knotter assembly.
