Generating expanded responses that guide continuance of a human-to computer dialog that is facilitated by a client device and that is between at least one user and an automated assistant. The expanded responses are generated by the automated assistant in response to user interface input provided by the user via the client device, and are caused to be rendered to the user via the client device, as a response, by the automated assistant, to the user interface input of the user. An expanded response is generated based on at least one entity of interest determined based on the user interface input, and is generated to incorporate content related to one or more additional entities that are related to the entity of interest, but that are not explicitly referenced by the user interface input.

Systems and methods offer a search system with third-party provided search applications that are triggered in response to specified queries and run at the search system. For example, a method may include determining that a query triggers a third party search application hosted at the search system, executing the third party search application at the search system using computer-instructions obtained from the third party to generate and format a third-party formatted answer for the query, and providing the third-party formatted answer as a search result for the query. The third party may provide the query template, parameter attributes, if any, and the third party formatted answer. The third party search application is stored at the search system and may include the query template, a data store, the parameter attributes, and computer-instructions for accessing the data store using the parameter.

Systems and methods offer a search system with third-party provided search applications that are triggered in response to specified queries and run at the search system. For example, a method may include determining that a query triggers a third party search application hosted at the search system, extracting a parameter from the query based on a query template, executing the third party search application with the parameter in a sandboxed manner at the search system to generate a third-party formatted answer for the query, and providing the third-party formatted answer as a search result for the query. The third party may provide the query template, parameter attributes, and the third party formatted answer. The third party search application may be stored at the search system and include the query template, a data store, the parameter attributes, and instructions for accessing the data store using the parameter.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing a representation based on structured data in resources. The methods, systems, and apparatus include actions of obtaining search results for a search query. Each search result references a respective resource, the respective resources including a first resource and a second resource. Additional actions include determining a consistent value, that is consistent with both a value for a particular property as indicated by structured data in the first resource and a value for the particular property as indicated by structured data in the second resource. Further actions include in response to determining a consistent value, providing (i) a representation of the consistent value as a possible answer to the search query, and (ii) the search results.

Systems and methods are provided for adding and displaying interactive annotations for existing online hosted videos. A graphical annotation interface allows the creation of annotations and association of the annotations with a video. Annotations may be of different types and have different functionality, such as altering the appearance and/or behavior of an existing video, e.g. by supplementing it with text, allowing linking to other videos or web pages, or pausing playback of the video. Authentication of a user desiring to perform annotation of a video may be performed in various manners, such as by checking a uniform resource locator (URL) against an existing list, checking a user identifier against an access list, and the like. As a result of authentication, a user is accorded the appropriate annotation abilities, such as full annotation, no annotation, or annotation restricted to a particular temporal or spatial portion of the video.

Techniques for providing interactive visualizations for an entity or group of entities based on search interest data are provided. The search interest data may be derived from Internet or online search data related to the entities and relevant attributes of the entities. Each of the entities and attributes may be represented in a structured search market using a predefined list of relevant search terms or keywords. A computer-implemented system, method and computer readable medium to generate graphical visualizations corresponding to a data set populated in a web-based document, such as a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is accessible in an interne or cloud-based system, and enables users to automatically create graphical visualizations or representations based on recommendations by a spreadsheet application. The graphical visualizations may be automatically ranked such that the system provides the recommendations to the user for display. Automatic ranking is accomplished, for example, by determining data types from identifying column type, differentiating column types, and extracting data sets having attributes corresponding to various graphical visualizations.
