In a method for marking a product first a product identification () is generated (S) and applied (S) onto the product (). Secure identification of a product

The present invention relates to a product information system and a corresponding method in a product information system with products, to which there are applied machine-readable items of information. A data servicefor dataallocated to the products is furnished. The machine-readable item of informationapplied to a productare read by a data requester. The data allocated to the product are requested through sending the read machine-readable data to the data service, the data requestis received by the data service, the requested dataare determined by the data serviceand sent by the data serviceto the data requester. In the step of determining the requested datathe data are generated by decrypting encrypted data-using the machine-readable items of informationreceived with the data request.

Product security system

Sensor components having sides facing the sheet material have one or a plurality of front elements which are detachable and replaceable with low effort. So in the case of wear of the sensor fronts, entire sensor components no longer have to be replaced but only individual front elements of the sensor component are replaced. The front elements do not contact the inner area of the housing and the sensitive measuring elements arranged therein. When the front elements are detached from the housing for maintenance, the measuring elements remain dustproof encapsulated in the housing of the sensor component. The front elements preferably have a comb structure which improves the transport of the bank notes at the transition between the sensor components.

To improve the monitoring of sheet processing, in particular in regard to disturbances in the course of processing, it is provided that the processing device () has at least one means () for detecting the identity of individual sheets () of sheet material and the memory device () of the monitoring device () is formed for storing the information on the processing of individual sheets () together with the identity of the individual sheets ().
