A greywater recovery and reuse system is shown, including a body for collecting, reconditioning and discharging greywater. The body has an inlet connection to a source of greywater; a filter for filtering the greywater; a tank for receiving the filtered greywater; a disinfector for disinfecting the filtered greywater; a pump for discharging the reconditioned greywater from said tank to a toilet that needs flushing water; a discharge connection to a sanitary sewer system; a fresh water connection and a control system for controlling the operation of the greywater recovery and reuse system. The system includes a controller for operating the system and dealing with certain alarm and status conditions. Methods of operating the system are also comprehended.

System and method of greywater recovery and reuse

A greywater recovery and reuse system is shown, including a body for collecting, conditioning and discharging greywater. The body has an inlet connection to a source of greywater; a filter for filtering the greywater; a tank for receiving the filtered greywater; a disinfector for disinfecting the filtered greywater; a pump for discharging the conditioned greywater from said tank to a toilet that needs flushing water; a discharge connection to a sanitary sewer system; a fresh water connection and a control system for controlling the operation of the greywater recovery and reuse system. The system includes a controller for operating the system and dealing with certain alarm and status conditions. Methods of operating the system are also comprehended.

An outlet well cover for use in an in-line grease interceptor is disclosed. The outlet well cover is fitted onto a hollow well extending upwardly from the bottom of the grease interceptor tank, and having an open top. The outlet well cover has at least one, and preferably two arms that extend outwards and define water passageways from the ends of the arms to the middle of the well. Water inflow openings at the ends of the arms allow clarified water to flow into the covered hollow well. The water inflow openings face generally downward to limit the amount of floating FOG material that can be drawn in through the openings. The well cover may also include a central bore adapted to receive a standard sized pipe. The pipe can be connected to an outlet from the tank.

Outlet well cover for an in-line grease interceptor

There is an inlet baffle assembly for use in an in-line interceptor for separating FOG from wastewater and a method of cleaning the inlet baffle assembly without the need for removal from the interceptor. The inlet baffle assembly has an inlet baffle for the grease collecting chamber of an in-line interceptor which defines a flow channel through which influent enters the collecting chambers and has a moveable section moveable between open and closed positions. The inlet baffle assembly also has a flow control element to control the rate of flow of influent entering the flow channel when the moveable section is in the closed position. The flow control element is accessible for cleaning when the moveable section is in the open position. After cleaning, the moveable section is moved into the closed position to facilitate fluid flowing through the inlet baffle assembly into the grease collecting chamber.

Inlet baffle assembly for an in-line interceptor

A personal lift device is disclosed having a motor having an output shaft. A gearing system is operatively connected to the output shaft for increasing torque. A strap for suspending a weight is wound onto a spool and rotating the spool extends and retracts the strap. A drive connection is made between the gearing system and the spool to permit said motor to drive said spool. A brake is associated with said spool to prevent unwanted extension of said strap from said spool, when a weight is suspended by said strap. In a preferred embodiment a clutch is provided between the brake and the drive train, and the greater the weight supported by the spool the greater the braking force. An emergency lift and lower device is also provided in the event of a failure of the motor.

Personal lift device

A valve is provided preferably having a moulded plastic valve plug with a plurality of preferably arcuate grooves circumferentially spaced in the forward surface of the plug. The arcuate grooves distribute fluid flowing between the plug and valve seat substantially equally about the periphery of the valve plug. Fluid is also directed by the grooves to flow between a sealing surface of the plug and the valve seat in an outward radial direction substantially parallel to the valve seat. The resulting fluid flow reduces cavitation, valve stem chatter, noise and vibrations as well as reducing erosiion of the valve seat. An inner portion of the plug is made of a relatively high tensile strength material having a low thermal expansion rate whereas an outer portion of the plug including the plug sealing surface is made of a material having a relatively low surface hardness. The result is that the inner portion having the arcuate grooves remains relatively dimensionally stable whereas the outer portion resiliently seals upon the valve seat. A method of moulding the inner and outer portions of the plastic valve plug upon the valve stem is also provided.
