The present invention is a method for using cloth filters in automated vertical molding, comprised of the steps of configuring a modular cloth filter setter having a housing, an upper jaw, and a lower jaw, wherein the upper jaw and lower jaw are selected to correspond to the size of a cloth filter, fixedly attaching the housing of the modular cloth filter setter to a mechanical arm, securing the cloth filter between the upper jaw and the lower jaw, creating a sand mold from a quantity of compressed sand, creating at least one print aperture for insertion of a cloth filter, and placing the cloth filter in the print aperture.

Variable method for using cloth filters in automated vertical molding

The present invention is a multipart system and method for using cloth filters in automated vertical molding. The system includes a filter setter, a filter print plate and a filter back shelf. The filter setter removably mounts to a mechanical arm and releasably carries at least one cloth filter between upper and lower jaws. The filter print plate mounts to a ram plate while the filter back shelf mounts to a swing plate. During vertical molding, the ram plate and swing plate compress sand to create a mold. The mounted filter print plate creates at least part of a print aperture into which the filter setter inserts the cloth filter. The apertures created by the filter print plate and the filter back shelf support the cloth filter during the founding process.

System and method for using cloth filters in automated vertical molding

A filter setter apparatus includes a housing to which an upper jaw and a lower jaw removably connect. The upper jaw has the shape of a rectangular bar with a plurality of upper jaw overlaps depending from either side of the upper jaw. The upper jaw has a mass causing a gravitational force acting on the upper jaw to clamp a filter inserted between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. The upper jaw partially encloses the lower jaw between the plurality of upper jaw overlaps. A filter setter system incorporates the above housing with a plurality of the above upper jaws and a plurality of the above lower jaws.

A pen sterilization device includes a main body having a first end, a second end and a plurality of opposing sides defining a watertight reservoir for containing a sterilization agent. A pair of watertight valves are positioned along each end of the main body and function to allow ingress and egress of a pen to be cleaned. A central partition may be provided within the watertight reservoir having one or more brushes that are suspended in the sterilization agent for scrubbing a pen that is passing through the device.

A head for an electric toothbrush includes a support member having a plurality of holes extending completely therethrough. A plurality of tufts of bristles each extends through one of the holes. A first brushing end of each tuft projects from a first side of the support member. Each tuft is prevented from being withdrawn from its hole when a tensile force is applied to the first end of each tuft along a long axis of the tuft. A resilient cushion is positioned adjacent a second side of the support member such that a second end of each tuft can contact the cushion. When a compressive force is applied to the first end of each tuft along the long axis of each tuft, each tuft can move in its hole in a first direction into the cushion. When the compressive force is removed the cushion causes each tuft to move in its hole in a second direction substantially opposite the first direction.

A toothbrush including a head having an elastomeric support member is described herein. The elastomeric support member supports a plurality of upstanding projections. At least a portion of the upstanding projections include non-elastomeric projections and elastomeric projections.

Oral devices are provided, including oral brushes that include bristle tufts and a rocking member having radially extending protrusions constructed to penetrate between a user's teeth. The protrusions are shaped to penetrate the interproximal region, cleaning between a user's teeth and stimulating the gums.

Oral care devices

An electrochemical cell generating hydrogen gas upon discharge, wherein the cell has an outer casing, a vent aperture passing through a wall of the casing, and a rupturable membrane covering the vent aperture. The outer casing preferably has a flat wall running along the cell's length and a vent aperture passing through the flat wall. The cell may typically be an alkaline cell in the shape of a cuboid. The rupturable membrane may be secured by a ring facing the inside surface of the flat wall of the casing in a position adjacent the vent aperture. The rupturable membrane is preferably of polysulfone. The membrane allows hydrogen gas to permeate therethrough to the environment and is rupturable if hydrogen gas within the cell interior builds up rapidly to a threshold pressure level. Optionally, a pointed puncture member extends into the vent aperture to assist membrane rupture.

A toothbrush includes a handle, a head extending from the handle, and a plurality of tooth cleaning elements, such as tufts of bristles, extending from the head. Each tooth cleaning element is supported for rotation about primarily only one axis. Each tooth cleaning element is rotatable independent of the other tooth cleaning element(s).

An alkaline cell having an anode comprising zinc and a cathode comprising manganese dioxide wherein the cathode is located annularly along the inside surface of the cell housing and has a plurality of indentations on the inside of its surface facing the cell interior. Each indentation has a wall defining a channel with an opening thereto running preferably in the direction of the cell's length. The channel and opening facing the cell interior filled with anode material. The cell can have an anode current collector, typically of metal, with at least a portion of its surface extending into the cathode indentation channel. The anode current collector can have a portion of its surface extending from a point within the anode and into the cathode indentation channel through said opening. The cell can include a cathode current collector comprising a sheet of conductive material such as a sheet of metal or graphite placed within the cathode, particularly within thick regions of the cathode. The cathode current collector can be used in conjuction with a conventional single nail anode current collector or in combination with the extended surface anode current collectors of the invention. Such alkaline cells exhibit improved performance, particularly under high power application.

Oral devices are provided, including oral brushes that include bristle tufts and a rotatable member having radially extending tips constructed to penetrate the interproximal and subgingival regions of the oral cavity.

A System On Chip (SOC) has been provided which includes a crossbar switch between 64 functional I/Os internal to the chip, and 40 external connection pins. The crossbar switch permits a signal at any of the 64 functional I/Os to appear at any of the connector pins. The cross bar switch, permitting signals at the 40 connector pins to appear at any of the 64 specified functional I/Os. Because the switching is done with 4-way switches, the total number of hierarchical switch layers is reduced to 3. A parallel, opposite oriented, network of switches permits input signals delivered to the physical I/Os to be switched to any of the 64 functional I/Os. The small number of switch layers permit connections to be made with a minimum of delay across the switch. A method corresponding to the above-described crossbar switch system is also provided.

A toothbrush having a handle a head extending from the handle, and a plurality of tufts of bristles secured to the head. One of the tufts is secured to the head at a location such that no other tuft is secured to the head at a location which is more distal from the handle than the location where the one tuft is secured to the head. The one tuft is angled by about 81 degrees or less relative to an imaginary line which is tangent to or co-planar with a surface of the head through which the one tuft is secured to the head. The one tuft is tilted away from the handle towards a direction along which the head extends from the handle.

An oral brush is provided that includes an elongated body, a head portion extending from the body, and a plurality of bristles, formed of particular thermoplastic elastomers, extending from the body. In various embodiments, the thermoplastic elastomer has a Shore A hardness of at least 30; the thermoplastic elastomer is selected from the group consisting of polyetheramides, polyesters, styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene block copolymers, polyurethanes, polyolefin elastomers, and mixtures thereof; and the thermoplastic elastomer has a flexural modulus of at least 5 MPa.
