A communications antenna includes: an elongate reflector comprising a plurality of panels that define a regular polygonal profile, the reflector having a longitudinal axis; a plurality of circuit boards, each of the circuit boards mounted to a respective reflector panel; a plurality of subsets of radiating elements, each subset of radiating elements mounted in a column on a front surface of a respective circuit board; and a plurality of phase cables, each of the phase cables being mounted to two circuit boards disposed on diametrically opposed reflector panels, the phase cables being positioned forwardly of the circuit boards.

A standard RF connector assembly for wireless communications antenna system. The RF connector assembly includes a first connector housing incorporating an RF connector, the housing including a first latch plate attached to the housing and has at least two toggle mounts. A toggle is attached to each toggle mount and each toggle includes a metal band pivotably attached to the toggle. A second connector housing incorporating a second RF connector includes a second latch plate attached to the second housing and has at least two tabs configured to be engaged by the metal bands to secure the first and second housing into latched engagement with each other.

Standard antenna interface connector assembly

A transmission line transition that couples RF energy between a coaxial cable and an air dielectric microstrip is provided. In some embodiments, the transition can combine a thin printed circuit board substrate and an insulating surface to form an effective capacitive coupling transition that can couple RF energy from the center conductor of a coaxial cable to an air microstrip. In some embodiments, the transition can include an insulating system affixed to a metallic surface, and the insulating system can secure an airstrip conductor in close proximity to an inner conductor of a coaxial cable to capacitively couple the airstrip conductor to the inner conductor of the coaxial cable. In some embodiments, the transition can employ a metallic body coated with an insulating surface to capacitively couple RF energy from the center conductor of the coaxial cable to the air microstrip.

Dual capacitively coupled coaxial cable to air microstrip transition

A multiple beam antenna system is described. The system may include a mounting structure, a first wireless access antenna, a second wireless access antenna, and a radio frequency lens. The first and second wireless access antennas may be mounted to the mounting structure. Columns of radiating elements of the first and second wireless access antennas may be aligned with the radio frequency lens. The radio frequency lens may be modular in a longitudinal or radial direction, or in both directions. The radio frequency lens may include a plurality of compartments arranged to form a first cylinder made up of concentric, coaxial cylinders and a plurality of dielectric materials in at least some of the plurality of compartments.

An RF interconnection module includes a housing having a perimeter, a capacitive coupling, and a float gasket disposed about the perimeter of the housing. When the housing is mounted in an opening, the float gasket is positioned between the housing and the opening. The float gasket may be made of an elastomer material and may include a plurality of outwardly extending ribs for movable securing the gasket in the opening. In addition, a mount assembly includes a bracket assembly attachable to a tower-mounted equipment and at least one jumper cable having at least one ohmic connector for connecting to the tower-mounted equipment and at least one capacitive connector. The capacitive connector may comprise an RF interconnection module mounted on the bracket assembly. The bracket assembly may be adjustable to accommodate tower mounted equipment of various sizes.

Standard antenna interface

A modular wireless communications station includes a standard antenna interface, a wireless communications antenna, and a remote radio head. The standard interface includes an antenna mount for the wireless communications antenna and at least one radio head mount. The radio head mount includes at least one linear guided support structure. The wireless communications antenna includes a bracket configured to engage the antenna mount and at least one RF interconnection module, the wireless communications antenna being mounted on the antenna mount. The remote radio head(s) include a low friction car configured to engage the linear guided support structure of the standard interface and an RF connector configured to engage the RF interconnection module of the antenna. The remote radio head may slide into engagement with the antenna and locked into place.

The present invention provides a capacitive grounded RF coaxial cable to airstrip transition which comprises a conductive ground plane, an insulating gasket, a reflector plate and an insulating fixing component. The conductive ground plane, the insulating gasket and the reflector plate are attached uniformly and tightly in sequence and fixed together by the insulating fixing component. The outer surface of the conductive ground plane is connected conductively with the outer conductor of the RF coaxial cable. Preferably, the conductive ground plane is a metal plate and the insulating gasket is a plastic gasket. The capacitive grounded RF coaxial cable to airstrip transition further comprises at least one perforation penetrating the conductive ground plane, the insulating gasket and the reflector plate in sequence. The insulating fixing component includes at least one insulating rivet and at least one conductive supporting piece is arranged on the outer surface of the conductive ground plane. The present invention further provides an antenna comprising this transition. Therefore the present invention is designed skillfully, simple in structure, simple and convenient to assemble, has a low cost, avoids metals' direct contact to obviate the difficulty of maintaining the constant surface pressure, and realizes the grounding without producing third-order intermodulation, to completely eliminate unstable factors, and therefore is suitable for large-scale popularization.

Capacitive grounded RF coaxial cable to airstrip transition, and antenna thereof

A dual band, dual pole, variable downtilt, 90 degree azimuth beamwidth antenna (). The antenna includes dipole elements () forming both a PCS band and a cellular band antenna. The PCS band antenna has two sections disposed each side of the cellular band antenna, the elements of each being positioned 90&#xb0; with respect to the other. A microstrip feed network formed upon a common PC board () feeds the respective dipole elements, and has serpentine portions with a corresponding dielectric member slideable thereover to establish the phase of the associated dipole antennas and achieve a linear downtilt of the respective antenna array. A slide rod adjustment assembly () provides unitary movement of the dielectric members between two different slide rods. These dielectric members are secured with adhesive to the respective slide rods to achieve good dielectric control and no use of hardware. The radiating dipole elements are capacitively coupled to each microstrip, and are also capacitively associated reflector element. One arm of the reflector element is offset at least 45 degrees with respect to the other arm to improve cross polarization.
