A method and system. User information is received at a storage location. The user information includes meeting and notification information. User activity is monitored based on the received user information. In response to a detection of a change in user activity, a determination is made of whether the change necessitates notifying a user. The user information in the storage location is modified, based on the detected change in user activity, when the user desires to change the notification information.

A method and system for notifying users of events. Scheduled user activity of a user is monitored, based on user notification information in a storage location. The user notification information pertains to a scheduled event. In response to a detection, from the monitoring, of a change in the user activity, it is ascertained that the change necessitates notifying the user of the scheduled event due to the change impacting whether the user can participate in the scheduled event. The change in the scheduled user activity is independent of the scheduled event. Then the user is notified of the scheduled event. The user notification information in the storage location is modified, based on the detected change in the user activity, in response to receipt of an instruction from the user to change the user notification information in the storage location.

A computer implemented method, a data processing system, and a computer program publish an audio annotation of a media signal. A media player plays a media signal. The media player then records an audio annotation to the media signal. Responsive to recording the audio annotation to the media signal, the media player records an identifier to be associated with the media signal. The audio annotation is then published to a social networking host.

The invention enhances mobile device software such that upon receipt of a specially formatted SMS message, the software can automatically dial a telephone number that was specified in the message after a configurable timed interval. A further enhancement comprises improvements to the integration between collaboration software (such as Lotus Notes) and mobile device software to enable employees to utilize this invention for connecting to conference calls. An additional enhancement comprises interfacing with a travel reservation system to detect when the user may want such an enhanced SMS message.

Method and system for automatically connecting to conference calls

The invention enhances mobile device software such that upon receipt of a specially formatted SMS message, the software can automatically dial a telephone number that was specified in the message after a configurable timed interval. A further enhancement comprises improvements to the integration between collaboration software (such as Lotus Notes) and mobile device software to enable employees to utilize this invention for connecting to conference calls. During the method of the present invention, a potentially contentious situation is detected. After this detection, this method, disrupts the capability of the system to automatically connect the user to a previously scheduled telephone conference, and notifies the user and querying the user and giving the user options to determine how the user desires to handle the one or more incoming calls. The user options can depend on the particular situation detected.

Method and system for handling potentially contentious situations upon receipt of an automatically connecting SMS message

A device for providing vehicle battery power to rechargeable devices in vehicles, such as portable radios, cell phones, flashlights and laptop computer terminals left in patrol vehicles. The device has battery power as input, and outputs power to rechargeable devices while the vehicle is on, and for a time period thereafter. One device has multiple outputs having corresponding time periods. One device includes an engine sensor, a timer, a first switch and a second switch, with the first switch coupled to a first rechargeable device through a first terminal pair and the second switch coupled to a second rechargeable device through a second terminal pair. Each terminal pair can have a unique time period and, in some embodiments, can have one of a set number of time periods selected with a jumper.

Vehicle time delay battery charger

An improved blackout control system located within the passenger compartment allows the driver to alter the normal and emergency lighting features of the vehicle. The blackout control system comprises an illuminated control panel unit modified by harness and control units which are attached to the lighting system of a conventional emergency vehicle. A four-position three-level emergency 'Red' switch is provided as an improvement on the control panel. A second blackout reset switch is provided to restore power to the blackout switches. A third blackout switch is provided on the panel which disables the brake and backup lights of the vehicle. A fourth switch for blacking out the tail lights, parking and/or corner lights is provided. A fifth blackout switch is provided to disable headlight daytime running lights. A sixth high beam sneak light switch is provided to activate a high beam sneak light mounted on the front of the vehicle with less lighting than the driving lights. A seventh low beam sneak light is provided with a hooded sneak light located in front of the vehicle which may be used to provide less lighting in front of the vehicle than the normal horizontally disposed headlights.

An improved blackout control system located within the passenger compartment allows the driver to alter the normal and emergency lighting features of the vehicle. The blackout control system comprises an illuminated control panel unit modified by harness and control units which are attached to the lighting system of a conventional emergency vehicle. Three emergency 'Red' switches are provided as an improvement on the control panel. A fourth blackout switch is provided on the panel which disables the brake and backup lights of the vehicle. A fifth switch for blacking out the tail lights, parking and/or corner lights is provided. A sixth sneak light switch is provided to activate a hooded sneak light located in front of the vehicle which may be used to provide less lighting in front of the vehicle than the normal horizontally disposed headlights. Other modifications are: (1) reduction of the switch panel and switch illumination for daytime, nighttime or blackout driving; (2) safety reset of blacked out lighting; (3) interior dome light extinguished while the red lights are on; and optional flashing features of emergency lights in the blackout system including the substitution of turn signal lights in smaller unmarked vehicles for the red grill lights of marked squad cars. Bypass plug-in units are provided for inactivating the blackout control system without requiring the removal of the blackout control system harness from a vehicle.

Blackout control system

A black-out controller system includes a harness attachable to the lighting system of a conventional vehicle. A controller is attachable to the harness for controlling the various lighting features of the vehicle. An illuminated switch panel located within the passenger compartment allows the driver to alter the normal lighting features of the vehicle. A brake and backup lights black-out switch is provided on the switch panel which disables the brake and backup lights of the vehicle. A tail lights black-out switch is also provided to disable the tail lights. A sneak light switch is provided to activate a sneak light located in front of the vehicle which may be used to provide less lighting in front of the vehicle than the normal headlights. Optional flashing features of emergency lights may be included in the black-out controller system.
