A method includes receiving, from a plurality of magnetic field receivers including magnetic sensors, data characterizing samples obtained by the plurality of magnetic field receivers, the samples of a combination of a first magnetic field and a second magnetic field resulting from interaction of the first magnetic field and an object; determining, using the received data, a polarizability index of the object, the polarizability index characterizing a magnetic polarizability property of the object; classifying, using the determined polarizability index, the object as threat or non-threat; and providing the classification. Personnel inspection with threat detection and discrimination

Data is received characterizing a request for agent computation of sensor data. The request includes a required confidence and required latency for completion of the agent computation. Platform for gathering real-time analysis

A modular imaging system includes an antenna panels, a sensor, and at least one data processor. The antenna panels include an array of antenna elements including at least two antenna elements separated by a spacing more than a half wavelength. The plurality of antenna panels are configurable to be spatially arranged and oriented with respect to one another to measure radar returns of an observation domain for a target. The sensor has a field of view overlapping the observation domain and for measuring an image. The at least one data processor forms part of at least one computing system and is adapted to receive data characterizing the optical image and the radar returns, determine a spatial location of the target, and construct a radar return image of the target using a sparsity constraint determined from the spatial location of the target. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a CT scanner system for use in baggage screening at security checkpoints.

Contraband detection systems and methods

A system and method for baggage screening at security checkpoints. A CT scanner system processes x-ray data to locate and eliminate non-contraband without a full CT reconstruction of the entire bag. The CT scanner system utilizes lineogram data to disqualify objects of insufficient size, density, or mass as potential threats. Objects can be inspected with CT reconstruction. The CT scanner is capable of obtaining CT data and projection images. Multiple CT scanning systems can be multiplexed together, and each CT scanning system is in communication with a review station. Baggage scanning may also be based on security intelligence inputs such as CAPPS to increase throughput.

A reduced size CT scanner for baggage inspection has a wide angle x-ray source and multiple sets of detectors at different distances from the x-ray source. The detectors in each set are sized and positioned to maintain consistent pitch and flux levels among all detectors. Conventional reconstruction processes can be used to process the data from the CT scanner. The scanner may also be incorporated into a check-in desk in a network of scanners.

Folded array CT baggage scanner

The threat determination process for CT scan of baggage eliminates the need for complete reconstruction the bag. The CT scan data is analyzed during scanning to locate potential threats. The analysis is based upon a lineogram representing objects in the bag. The mass, size, location and atomic number of objects are determined based upon the lineogram data. Any potential threats are further subjected to data modification and reconstruction to enhance the view of the potential threat. Dual energy scanning may also be used to determine density for resolution of potential threats.

System and method for CT scanning of baggage

An embodiment of the invention is directed to a computed tomography device, comprising a tunnel to receive baggage, an x-ray source providing an x-ray beam that intersects the tunnel and has a beam angle of 120&#xb0;, a gantry that oscillates relative to the tunnel through an oscillation angle that equals 270&#xb0;, and a plurality of detectors. The plurality of detectors are mounted to the gantry and adapted to receive x-rays from the x-ray source. In addition, the plurality of detectors are arranged in a horseshoe-shaped configuration in which at least one first detector is located a furthest distance from the x-ray source and at least one second detector is disposed on each side of the at least one first detector and is disposed closer to the x-ray source than the at least one first detector.

Computed tomography system

The CT threat resolution system includes an primary EDS scanning process to identify threats and the nature of threats and a plurality of secondary CT scanning processes to resolve threats. The primary EDS scanning process and secondary CT scanning processes can be either separate machines or multiple processes within a single scanner. The secondary scanning process may utilizes dual energy scanning and/or high resolution scanning to resolve threats based upon the nature of the threat. An alarm indicates threats which cannot be resolved by the secondary CT scanning process for further operator investigation. Threats may be reviewed and resolved by an operator before the secondary CT scanning process.
