An add-on device adapted to be releasably attachable to a drug delivery device, the drug delivery device comprising a first housing having a first mounting surface with a first positioning structure, and a dose setting mechanism with a dose indicator member. The add-on device comprises a second housing comprising a second mounting surface with a second positioning structure protruding from the second mounting surface and adapted to engage the first positioning structure form-fittingly when the add-on device is mounted on the drug delivery device, a mounting switch actuatable between a non-mounted and a mounted state, a cam-era opening formed in the mounting surface, the second positioning structure surrounding the camera opening, a camera adapted to capture an image of the indicator member when arranged in alignment with the camera window, wherein the mounting switch is arranged in the vicinity of the second positioning structure.

Mounting feature for accessory device

An electronically controlled add-on device with a switch arrangement comprises a powered switch which is open during most of its lifetime, i.e. during both storage and operational use. More specifically, in one embodiment the add-on device comprises a secondary switch so that there are an open and a closed switch. The logics of the electronic circuitry control the circuitry so that the closed switch will be un-powered and the open switch will be powered. When the switch is mechanically changed, both switches are changed by the controller so that the closed switch will be un-powered and the open switch will be powered.

Power efficient add-on device

The present invention relates to an electronically assisted injection device adapted to inject doses of a drug from a held cartridge. The injection device may include a first rotational sensor () coupled to a driver () for sensing a dose setting and a second rotational sensor () coupled to a dosing member () for sensing an expelled dose. A third axial sensor () provides information relating to the axial position of the driver (). A control circuit is adapted to determine the end of dosed state based on data from the first, the second and the third sensors (). The injection device may also include an arrangement for determining fluid ingress into the interior of the injection device. The present invention relates to electronically assisted drug delivery devices (). The drug delivery device may include a Gray code type detector for sensing dosage data, wherein the detector comprises a code track consisting of a sequence of alternating markings and a plurality of detectors that are mutually spaced in a direction extending along the code track. The drug delivery device may also include a dosage selector () which is moved in a proximal direction upon dose setting and in a distal direction upon dose injection, where the dosage selector is latched in the end of dose position by a latching element, the latching element actuating an end of dose switch for signalling the end of dose state. The drug delivery device may also incorporate power-management arrangements which effectively minimizes power consumption for the incorporated electronic circuitry.

An injection device for injection of set doses of medicine from a cartridge has a nut that is screwed up along a threaded piston rod during a dose setting operation. The nut is screwed along the piston rod by rotating a dose setting member. A rotational coupling mechanism includes an axially displaceable coupling member which is rotated as a function of axial displacement. During dose setting, the nut is allowed to rotate relative to the coupling member. During injection, the coupling member is rotationally locked to the nut. This provides a dose setting and injection mechanism wherein the nut member is both rotated during dose setting and during injection.

A frontloaded injection device that includes a cartridge holder into which a replaceable cartridge containing a fluid is inserted. The cartridge holder includes a closing element such as a pair of claws which are displaceable in a radial direction. The closing element is provided at the front of the injection device and locks the cartridge by gripping at the neck part of the cartridge after the cartridge has been loaded into the cartridge holder from the front of the injection device. The closing element is preferably biased in an outwardly radial direction when the locking element is moved axially out of the cartridge holder.

Frontloaded injection device

Two pairs of integrated Hall elements (and) monitors movements relative to a sine formed magnetic field presented along the perimeter of a multipoled magnetized ring (). The Hall elements in each pair are displaced 180&#xb0; magnetically relative to each other and the two pairs of Hall elements are displaced 90&#xb0; magnetically from each other. Each pair is coupled to a differential amplifier () to provide a cosine and a sine signal, respectively. The sine signal is divided by the cosine signal to create a tangent signal as an entrance to a table showing the angle of the movement.
