A sand fallback tool having an outer tubular body with proximal end, a distal end, a chamber therebetween surrounding an axis extending from the proximal end through the distal end, a tubular flow divider supported within the chamber to divide at least a portion of the chamber of the outer tubular body into a central passage along the axis and an annular passage radially intermediate an exterior of the tubular flow divider and an interior of the outer tubular body, and an unobstructed axial settling path from the proximal connector into the central passage. One embodiment further includes a tubular extension coupled to the proximal connector and extending along the axis to terminate at a distal end of the tubular extension received within a proximal end of the tubular flow divider to provide an 'S'-shaped flow pathway intermediate the annular passage and the proximal connector of the outer tubular body.

An assembly for use in a well, where the assembly includes a casing section, a modular carrier body, at least one securing ring, and at least one at least one port through the modular carrier body for connecting a compression fitting for at least one fiber optic line. The modular carrier body has a shape that can conform to the outer diameter of the casing section, and has a carrier body interior to house at least one fiber optic line, and a fiber optic line splicing assembly. At least one securing ring has a shape conformable to both the outer diameter of the casing section and a portion of a surface of the modular carrier body. The assembly can have two securing rings on either end of the modular carrier body as it is mounted to the casing.

An assembly can include a barrel housing having an opened end. The barrel housing can also include a barrel port for mounting a first compression fitting. A racetrack tray can be positioned within the barrel housing. The racetrack tray can receive an optical fiber and an electrical cable of a hybrid cable. A cap can be secured to the opened end of the barrel housing. The cap can include a cap port for receiving a second compression fitting. A primary seal can be positioned in a groove on one of the cap or the barrel housing. The primary seal can create a pressure seal between the cap and the barrel housing.

A connection assembly, system and method for connecting components of a wellsite are provided. The wellsite has a wellbore extending into a subsurface formation, the connection assembly includes a female connector having a cavity extending therein, a floating cartridge having, and a male connector. The female connector or floating cartridge is operatively connectable to a first of the components. The floating cartridge is operatively connectable to the female connector and laterally movable therein. The male connector is receivable in the cavity and is operatively connectable to the second of the components and the floating cartridge such that the male connector and the female connector are movably positionable relative to each other by the floating cartridge whereby a misalignment between the wellsite components is tolerated. The male connector may have a joint pivotally connectable to the floating cartridge.

Misalignment-tolerant wellsite connection assembly, system, and method

A whipstock assembly includes a whipstock bodyhaving a whipstock center of gravity offset radially from the central axis of the whipstock body, a counterweight to releasably secured to the whipstock body, with a counterweight having an offset counterweight center of gravity, an orientation device, and a neutralizer. The neutralizer causes the combined whipstock/neutralizer center of gravity to be substantially closer to the central axis of the whipstock body compared to the whipstock center of gravity. An attaching mechanismallows the neutralizer to be returned to the surface after the whipstock body is set in the well.

Orientable whipstock tool and method

A whipstock assembly,for setting within a casing C on an anchor A diverts a cutting mill M to cut a window in the casing. The whipstock assembly is passed through a restriction positioned above the location where the whipstock assembly is set, is lowered past the restriction in a run in position, and is set within the casing in a set position. The whipstock assembly includes an upper whipstock body,having a ramp surface,a middle lower whipstock body,having a concave guiding face,and a lower whipstock body,having a concave whipstock diversion face,A lower hinge member,is provided for positioning the concave whipstock diversion face for diverting the cutting mill, and at least one whipstock positioning member,engages the casing when in the set position for positioning the middle whipstock body guiding face. Accordingly the method of the invention, the cutting mill and at least a portion of the a downhole motor may be positioned adjacent the guiding face of the middle whipstock body when initiating rotation of the cutting mill. The whipstock and method of the present invention are particularly well suited for conducting a thru tubing operation, with the tubing OD being less than the ID of the casing which the whipstock assembly is set.
