Facilitating application and/or traffic status aware intelligent carrier aggregation in advanced networks is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise analyzing a traffic usage parameter of a mobile device and, based on a first determination that the traffic usage parameter consumes more uplink resources than downlink resources, configuring, the mobile device with an uplink carrier aggregation based on a first maximization of the uplink carrier aggregation and, thereafter, configuring the mobile device with an allowable downlink carrier aggregation. Alternatively, based on a second determination that the traffic usage parameter consumes more downlink resources than uplink resources, configuring the mobile device with a downlink carrier aggregation based on a second maximization of the downlink carrier aggregation and, thereafter, configuring the mobile device with an allowable uplink carrier aggregation. The uplink carrier aggregation and the downlink carrier aggregation can be non-static carrier aggregations.

Facilitating application and/or traffic status aware intelligent carrier aggregation in advanced networks

A communication device locates a preferable wireless service provider in a multi-service provider environment using a frequency band search schedule. Initially, the communications device registers with a less preferred service provider in a first frequency band. While remaining registered with the less preferred service provider, the device examines several frequency bands in the order specified by the frequency band search schedule. A frequency band is examined by dividing the frequency band into many sub-bands, and by locating the strongest signal above a threshold within the sub-band being examined. The examination continues until a second frequency band having a more preferred service provider is located. The communication device then registers with the more preferred service provider. The category of service provider may be identified and displayed on the communication device.

Method for categorization of multiple providers in a wireless communication service environment

Methods and systems including non-transitory computer-readable storage media, for selectively erasing data stored at a wireless device are disclosed. The media includes instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method including comparing a particular service provider identified by the data stored at the wireless device to at least one favored service provider selected from a group of favored service providers consisting of a home service provider and a preferred service provider other than the home service provider. The instructions further, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to erase, if the particular service provider is not one of the favored service providers, the data stored at the wireless device.

A communication arrangement includes a Short Message Service Center (SMS-SC), a permissions facility (such as a customer care facility) to associate permissions and service requests, and a network element configured to receive a Short Message Service message via the SMS-SC. The network element extracts a device identifier from the message, applies the device identifier to locate device status information, and interacts with the facility to determine permissions to apply to service requests originating from the device.

A wireless communication device uses operational parameters stored in a capabilities list to control operation of the device. The device may also provide auxiliary services, such as reception of broadcast television signals and location detection using network assisted GPS. When auxiliary services are selected, the cellular operation may cause interference with the auxiliary services. The wireless communication device includes a reduced set of capabilities to control operation of the wireless communication device when an auxiliary service is requested. The particular set of reduced capabilities may depend on the specific type of auxiliary service that has been requested. Upon termination of the auxiliary services, the full capabilities list may be restored and the operation of the wireless communication device is thereafter controlled by the full set of operational capabilities.

A wireless communications apparatus comprises a monitor component that analyzes transmitter operating parameters of the wireless communications apparatus. A generator component generates an acoustic anti-phase burst based at least in part upon the analyzed transmitter operating parameters, wherein the acoustic anti-phase burst reduces effects of radio frequency interference received at a hearing aid.

Radio frequency interference reduction in connection with mobile phones

A method and system of erasing at least part of the location information stored on a subscriber identity module (SIM) of a mobile phone. The SIM stores the most recently used service provider in its location information. Either at power down or power up, the location information is erased so during the power up routine, the service provider search schedule will not find a service provide, when it first searches the most recently used service provider stored in the location information. In this case, the service provider search routine will appropriately choose either the home service provider or a preferred service provider rather than the service provider stored in the location information. The method of erasing at least part of the location information may be carried out by a program stored on the SIM card or by a wireless network transmitting an instructive signal to the wireless device. The method and system may also provide that if the service provider stored in the location information corresponds to the home service provider or a preferred service provide, then none of the location information is erased.
