In at least one embodiment, it includes a thin strong inner wall, a likewise thin and strong outer wall and an interior of the support tube which is of the honeycomb type or is made of foam material.

An arrangement for the adjustment of the homogeneity of a basic magnetic field in a magnetic resonance apparatus includes gradient coil support fashioned to support a gradient coil system. The gradient coil support has at least one channel that is fashioned to accommodate an associated shim tray. The shim tray is designed to accommodate ferromagnetic shim elements at predetermined positions in order to adjust the homogeneity of the basic magnetic field of the magnetic resonance apparatus. The shim tray has a first locking element coupled with it. The channel has a second locking element, and the first and second locking element are shaped such that both are positively connected with one another by a force produced by the basic magnetic field of the magnetic resonance apparatus upon activation thereof.

Arrangement to adjust the homogeneity of a basic magnetic field

A device to install and remove a structural component in and from a medical large device has a guide system that simplifies the difficult handling of the structural component due to the size or the weight of the structural component. The guide system has a first guide rail that can be positioned on a height-adjustable patient bed of the large device, and a guide groove which is arranged on the structural component. Additionally, another second guide rail can be attached to the medical large device, which forms an extension of the first guide rail when the patient bed is correspondingly positioned. With this device the structural component can be easily raised and lowered with the aid of the height-adjustable patient bed, and can easily be slid into and out of the large device when the first and second rails are at the same height.

Method of installing and removing a component of medical device

In a method for manufacturing a gradient coil system for a magnetic resonance apparatus, the conductor arrangement of the gradient coil system is produced by successively applying respective layers of metal powder sinter material on a workpiece platform, and successively sintering the respective layers by the application of radiation, such as laser radiation, to the individual layers, and the conductor arrangement is assembled with other components to produce the gradient coil system. A gradient coil system manufactured in accordance with this method includes a number of assembled components, including an electrical conductor arrangement, with the electrical conductor arrangement having conductors formed by radiation-sintered metal powder material.

Gradient coil system and method for the production thereof

A magnetic resonance tomography apparatus has a basic field magnet that is surrounded by a magnet envelope. This basic field magnet surrounds and limits an interior space with a gradient coil system disposed in this interior space and a body coil having an RF antenna and a carrying tube disposed in said gradient coil system as an inner encapsulation cylinder. The magnet envelope and the gradient coil system are both optically as well as acoustically closed by the body coil and a cladding at the end faces and in the interior. The body coil is manufactured by a vacuum casting or vacuum die-casting process.
