A seat for a vehicle and more particularly a front seat for a vehicle includes a central pillar extending from the floor to the roof of the vehicle, and a center support extending forwardly from the central pillar. A lower rib extends laterally from the center support and supports a seat bottom fixed thereto. Primary and secondary intermediate ribs also extend laterally from the central pillar. A seat back is fixed to and supported by the primary and secondary intermediate ribs. Also, an upper rib is provided which extends laterally from the central pillar above the intermediate ribs. A headrest is fixed to and supported by the upper rib.

A pair of foldable rear seats for a motor vehicle includes a support stub fixed to the vehicle and a pair elongated support arms pivotally connected to the support stub. A pair of seat bottoms are pivotally connected to each of the respective support arms, such that each seat bottom is pivotable between a vertical folded position and a horizontal open position. Further, a pair of seat backs are each pivotally connected to a rear portion of each respective seat bottom in order to fold into the respective seat bottom from an open position. A headrest is slidably disposed on each seat back. Furthermore, a pair of seat legs are each pivotally connected to the seat bottom at an outer portion thereof so that when the seat bottom is in the open state, the seat leg, in its open position, extends from the seat bottom to the vehicle floor.

Rear seat for a vehicle

An assembly for providing additional storage in a vehicle includes a drawer housing located beneath a rear seat of a vehicle. The housing may serve as a coupling location for the seat cushion and includes front and back walls and cross beams which define side openings on either side of the vehicle. A drawer fits within the housing and may be opened from either side. In a preferred embodiment, the assembly also includes a load floor coupled to the drawer housing and movable between a generally vertical position in which access to the drawer is facilitated and a lowered position where it supports the cushion of the seat or, if desired, the seat back in a folded position. The drawer may slide across the floor of the vehicle or, in the preferred and illustrated embodiment, include rails which cooperate with grooves on the front and back walls of the drawer housing to facilitate easy sliding of the drawer.
