A spring-loaded pressure indicator inside the low side quick-coupler of the automotive air conditioner recharge hose. As the user adds refrigerant, the user can look at the pressure indicator on the quick-coupler to determine either the correct refrigerant charge has been reached or that it is approaching the correct refrigerant charge so that the user can stop charging and check the vent temperature in the passenger compartment.

A self-sealing valve device includes a main body defining a cavity; an actuating control; a valve body in connection with a plunger in the cavity of the main body; an elongate protrusion extending from the valve body; a collar forming a channel sized for friction fit receipt of the valve body, and wherein the lower end of the collar defines a perimeter zone including first and second capture regions; the valve body being rotatably movable by twisting the actuating control such that the elongate protrusion may be selectively positioned in one of the first and second capture regions; and wherein the first capture region defines a locked configuration wherein the actuating control cannot actuate the flow of the stored fluid and the second capture region defines an unlocked configuration wherein the actuating control may be selectively operated to actuate the flow of the stored fluid.

A dispensing canister apparatus for controlled release of a stored fluid includes first and second thermochromic clips for providing a visual indication of the ambient air temperature; a hose member surrounding a channel and having first and second open ends, and the first open end being connected to the canister such that the channel is in fluid flow communication with the inner cavity; a control on the canister for selectively actuating the flow of the stored fluid from the inner cavity into the channel and through a coupler member at the second open end of the hose member; and wherein storage of the first thermochromic clip in the first receptacle positions the fastening member such that it obstructs movement of the control for actuating the flow of the stored fluid.

A thermochromic clip provides a visual indication of the temperature of the air flowing through an air vent as refrigerant is introduced into an air conditioning system. The thermochromic clip including an elongate body having an outer facing surface; a fastening member on the elongate body. The fastening member being sized and configured for selective attachment to the air vent. At least the outer facing surface coated with a thermochromic material. The thermochromic material of the outer facing surface being structured and disposed for changing from a first color state to a second color state in response to a change in temperature that places the thermochromic material at a temperature equal to or below a predetermined temperature value.
