A repair jig for drilling and retapping bores provided in a marine engine distributor is disclosed. The repair jig includes a frame having a plurality of alignment mechanisms operatively associated therewith. Bores formed in the alignment mechanisms are alignable with bores of the marine engine distributor. Once aligned, drill bits and taps can be sequentially inserted through the repair jig and into the distributor for removing broken fasteners and retapping the distributor bores, respectively.

Apparatus and method for repairing marine engine distributors

A head for writing a plurality of bands. The bands have magnetic transitions onto a magnetic media ( ). The magnetic media ( ) travels in a preselected direction. The head includes a body support structure ( ) and a plurality of write elements ( ). The write elements ( ) have a fixed alignment in the body support structure ( ) that is substantially perpendicular relative to the travel direction of the magnetic media ( ).

Servo write head

Peak detection is conducted by converting a continuous waveform into discrete samples. The discrete samples are evaluated to identify three points near a peak of the continuous waveform. After the three points near the peak are identified, they are stored in a discrete domain data structure which is used in conjunction with a table generated from a continuous transformation function in order to identify an accurate peak amplitude and time.

Wave form peak detector

A multi-track servo recording head includes a multi-tip write core for simultaneously writing a plurality of tracking signals on magnetic storage media. The magnetic recording head may include an optical edge sensor and a magnetic edge sensor for sensing the position of the recording head relative to the edge of the storage media. Additionally, a read core is provided to detect the longitudinal position of the storage media relative to the recording head during media transport.

System for recording track-centering servo signals on multi-track

An improved inclination sensor in which electrically conductive elements are fabricated onto one or both surfaces of a flat plate. The plate comprising discrete, isolated sector sections having a distinct electrically conductive regions is oriented in a substantially vertical plane. The plate has an axis which lies in a horizontal plane and which is substantially perpendicular to the plate so that the plate may tilt about the axis. The plate is encased within a sealed chamber occupied by a fluid having electrical properties. In one embodiment a dielectric fluid occupies a first portion of a chamber and has a dielectric constant greater than that of a gas which occupies a second portion of the sealed chamber. The fluid flows in response to a change in the tilt of the sealed chamber and the plate. In a second embodiment a capacitive fluid changes the capacitance between the distinct electrically conductive regions of each section of the plate. By determining the capacitance between the electrically conductive regions in one or more of the sections, the tilt of the inclinometer may be determined.

Capacitive based gravity sensor

A stand for a printer typically included with a computer installation characterized by side support walls which serve to position the printer at an inclined angle, where such reduces space requirements on the supporting surface and, at the same time, affords more effective viewing capabilities, both in contrast to the instance where the printer lies in a horizontal plane. Additionally, paper storage space is provided within the stand and a carrying provision affords ease in portability.
