The present invention relates to methods to treat fabrics with lipophilic fluid, a polar phase and bleach system. The present invention is also directed to compositions containing lipophilic fluid, a polar phase and a bleach system.

Bleaching in conjunction with a lipophilic fluid cleaning regimen

The present invention relates to methods to treat fabrics with lipophilic fluid and bleaching agents. The present invention is also directed to compositions containing lipophilic fluid and bleaching agents.

Bleach compositions

Nonionic, hydrophobic photobleach compounds, especially those based on Si(IV) phthalocyanines, which are liquid at ambient temperatures and their use in a variety of consumer product compositions.

Hydrophobic liquid photobleaches

Laundry or cleaning composition comprising: (a) a catalytically effective amount, preferably from about 1 ppb to about 99.9%, of a transition-metal bleach catalyst which is a complex of a transition-metal and a cross-bridged macropolycyclic ligand; and (b) at least about 0.1% of one or more laundry or cleaning adjunct materials, preferably comprising an oxygen bleaching agent. Preferred compositions are laundry compositions and automatic dishwashing detergents which provide enhanced cleaning/bleaching benefits through the use of such catalysts.

Consumer product compositions such as laundry detergents comprising selected photosensitive compounds for photobleaching, photodisinfection, antibacterial activity, hueing or other benefits. The compositions are preferably formulated with detersive surfactants and/or water-soluble polymers.

Bleach compositions containing metal bleach catalyst, and bleach activators and/or organic percarboxylic acids

The invention relates to a process for purifying and decolorizing a phenyl ester salt. The process combines a phenyl ester salt with a solvent to form a mixture and then stirs the mixture to form a slurry. The phenyl ester salt is substantially insoluble in this solvent. The process then collects the phenyl ester salt from the slurry. The collected phenyl ester salt may then be optionally dried or recrystallized. The collected phenyl ester salt is dissolved in a solvent to form a solution. The solution is decolorized and then spray dried to form a powder of the phenyl ester salt. As a result of the process the phenyl ester salt powder has a higher purity and an improved color as compared to the starting phenyl ester salt.

Process for forming amido esters utilizing a spinning disc reactor

The present invention relates to a bleaching comprising a pre-formed peroxycarboxylic acid having solubility in an aqueous composition of from 50 ppm to 800 ppm. These compositions are suitable to deliver improved bleaching performance whilst also being safe to color and fabric. Furthermore the compositions herein are also chemically and physically stable upon prolonged periods of storage time.

Bleaching compositions

Detergent compositions comprising photobleach delivery systems, processes for preparing them, and their methods of use, the compositions combine selected hydrophobic photobleaches, especially based on Si(IV) phthalocyanines, with selected axial ligands, with certain water-soluble polymers, nonbonded ligands, detersuve surfactants, especially certain mid-chain branched types, and non-surfactant detersive adjuncts.

Detergent compositions comprising photobleaching delivery systems

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a purified salt of 4-sulfophenyl-&lsqb;(1-oxyalkanoyl)amino&rsqb;alkanoate. The process comprises the steps of: (a) providing a source of 4-sulfophenyl-&lsqb;(1-oxyalkanoyl)amino&rsqb;alkanoate; (b) admixing the source with a water-based purification system to form a purification mixture, the water-based purification system having water present at a ratio of 4-sulfophenyl-&lsqb;(1-oxyalkanoyl)amino&rsqb;alkanoate to water ranging from about 1:0.05 to about 1:50, preferably from about 1:0.1 to about 1:40; (c) separating a purified salt of 4-sulfophenyl-&lsqb;(1-oxyalkanoyl)amino&rsqb;alkanoate from the purification mixture; and (d) collecting said purified salt of 4-sulfophenyl-&lsqb;(1-oxyalkanoyl)amino&rsqb;alkanoate. In preferred embodiments, the purification mixture includes a processin aide such as ethyl alcohol, propyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, acetone and mixtures thereof.

Process for preparing and/or purifying amido acid phenyl ester sulfonates

Method for cleaning fabrics using laundry detergents and bleaching systems which comprise substituted benzoyl caprolactam bleach activators are presented. The bleach activators are effective under mixed soil conditions, especially mixtures of hydrophobic and hydrophilic soils and stains.
