A lifting device for an automatic pile changing device of a sheet-processing machine, in particular for a sheet-fed offset printing machine with a non-stop feeder, having a main pile-carrying assembly and an auxiliary pile-carrying assembly which can be raised and lowered by means of a motor and an upstream drive unit. The invention allows simple and cost effective synchronization of the main pile-carrying assembly and of the auxiliary pile-carrying assembly within given tolerances. According to the invention, this is achieved by switching signals of equal duration determined by a common control unit coordinating two drive units. At least one of the drive units is assigned parameters that enable this synchronization.

Lifting drive system for an automatic pile changing device

A cylinder for a printing press is adjusted away from a printing stock web or an adjacent cylinder by rotation of an eccentric element. The change in position caused by the movement of the eccentric element is compensated by an additional rotating movement superposed on the rotating movement of the cylinder such that the outer surface of the cylinder has no relative velocity relative to the adjacent cylinder or the printing stock web. Compensation is carried out by a regulating circuit to which is supplied the actual rotational angle of the cylinder with respect to the eccentric element and the actual rotational angle of the eccentric element with respect to the side wall or an angular function derived therefrom.

Swivelable cylinder driven by an electric individual drive

The present invention relates to a control means for a printing machine, in particular a sheet-fed offset printing machine, having a plurality of units, such as feeders, printing units, varnishing and coating devices, deliverers, folding apparatus and the like, each unit being assigned a station having at least one computer and these stations being connected to one another via a first bus. It is intended to ensure that the switching processes which are to be carried out in the individual units of the printing machine at specific, predetermined angle positions can proceed exactly, even at the highest machine speeds. According to the present invention, for this purpose it is proposed that, in addition to the first bus, via which the stations exchange signals with one another, a second bus is provided, via which the individual stations may be fed with the angle position signals of a single-turn rotating angle encoder which is fitted on one unit of the printing machine. It is thus ensured that each station can carry out the switching processes which are a function of angle position in the associated unit.

A bus system for a printing machine, in particular a sheet-fed offset printing machine, which includes a plurality of stations designed as computers, which are connected to one another via a bus. In the bus, it is intended that potential errors which occur at unforeseeable times can be detected, without it being necessary to intervene in the line system of the bus. According to the invention, this is achieved in that at least one of the stations has a bus coupler whose transmitting portion is designed for the purpose of outputting bus signals for the purpose of establishing a connection to the other stations, the value of at least one physical variable differing from the value of this variable provided in the line protocol. In the case of a bus designed as an optical waveguide, this is advantageously achieved by one station carrying out the attempt to establish a connection initially at a low transmitted power.
