A tappet is proposed, for a fuel pump or for a valve timing gear, in each case of an internal combustion engine, comprising a hollow-cylindrical housing, which includes two separate portions lying in line one after the other, which are fitted together in a region of their facing inner faces and are permanently connected to one another by way of a joint. The tappet has a roller on its driving side and an abutment for a follower part on its driven side, which abutment is formed on a separate insert. The abutment is radially supported on the housing in the fitted-together region of the two portions, wherein the insert has a middle annular collar, from which on the one hand a sleeve portion protrudes in the direction of the driving side and on the other hand a dome-like attachment protrudes towards the driven side.

Tappet

A method or producing rollers and sleeves for chains, particularly for roller chains or sleeve-type chains. The rollers and sleeves are of cylindrical form and they are deep-drawn from a sheet metal material. The drawn components can remain attached to the sheet metal for convenience in transporting them and later separated from the sheet as they are needed. Alternatively, the drawn components can be separated from the sheet metal material and can be pressed into the openings that remain in the sheet metal, again for convenient transportation.

Method for producing rollers and sleeves for chains

The invention relates to a cup tappet for an internal combustion engine, having a skirt which has a radial recess, into which an anti-rotation element () is inserted. The anti-rotation element protrudes from the skirt in the radial direction, in order to be accommodated in a corresponding groove of the cylinder head as an anti-rotation safeguard. According to the invention, the anti-rotation element () has an outer contour in longitudinal section with a head () and a stem (). The stem has a reduced dimension compared with the head () and a thickened portion (), and can be clipped into the recess of the skirt of the cup tappet under elastic deformation of the thickened portion (). In this way, an anti-rotation safeguard is possible which can be assembled particularly simply, can be manufactured cheaply and is reliable.
