Provided is a medical tool for disconnection of a medical tubing connection comprising a resilient body forming a pair of open biased opposing jaws joined at a connected end; and gripping elements on an inside surface of each opposing jaws near the connected end to grip the medical tubing when the opposing jaws are moved together, to allow disconnection of the medical tubing connection. Also provided is a use of the medical tool for disconnecting medical tubing connection and a method for disconnecting medical tubing connection using the medical tool.

Medical torsion tool

A posterior walker is disclosed comprising: a foldable, tubular frame; adjustable handles; wheels including anti-rollback wheels in the back and pivoting wheels in the front; a flexible, adjustable lower back support strap; features to adjust the handling and stability of the walker, to meet the mobility and standing needs of persons with unsteady gait and standing posture, namely an adjustable weighting means; and optionally backpack storage. In one embodiment, the adjustable weighting means is provided by use of weighted stability cuffs.

Stable wheeled walker device

A support cushion for children's furniture defines a seat cushion area and a back cushion area and has a seating surface that extends over those areas and is contoured to provide positional support and comfort for a child seated on the cushion. The cushion preferably is a one-piece closed cell foam moulding which is flexible to permit variation in the relative angular orientation between the seat cushion and the back cushion area. The seat includes a raised transverse barrier that is spaced forwardly of the rear of the seat for controlling rotation of the pelvis of a child. The cushion further includes a pair of side support pads that extend forwardly from respectively opposite sides of the back to locate against the trunk of a child and cushion against side-to-side movement.

Seating furniture for children

A seating system, for example a paediatric seating system for wheelchairs, provides appropriate support for a person using the chair by providing adjustable components to support specific anatomical areas of the back, pelvis and upper leg and, more specifically, three components that stabilize the pelvis of that person. These components comprise an elevation change in the seat, a pad at the back that provides resistance to the posterior superior iliac spine (PSIS) and a pair of anterior pelvic pads that stabilize below the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS).

Support cushion for seating

The invention provides a restraint and transfer device for restraining a seated passenger, such as a child, for transport in a vehicle and for mechanically lifting the passenger in and out of the vehicle. A mounting frame is secured to a passenger seat of the vehicle with standard lap and shoulder seat belts. A cushioned transfer seat insert is used to seat the passenger in a suitably adapted wheelchair, during lifting in and out of the vehicle, and within the vehicle securely mounted to the frame. As a result, the passenger remains seated in a rigid supporting transfer seat insert. The passenger is not subjected to physical handling and the risk of injury to the caregiver and passenger is reduced during transfer. Releasable body postural positioning belts secure the passenger to the insert and the configuration of insert cushions, supports and postural belts can be flexibly adapted to suit the needs of each individual passenger. Mounting mechanisms on the frame and insert releasably mount and secure the insert to the frame. Restraint belts secure the passenger to the frame sufficiently to satisfy crash survival requirements. Suspension mechanisms attach to the lateral sides of the insert back and insert seat for suspending the insert and passenger seated therein from the vehicle roof top surface during lifting between a standby position outside the vehicle and a mounted position on the frame within the vehicle.

Restraint seat and hoist

An auxiliary seat for young children, particularly for use with children having physical disabilities, is removably connected to the bowl of a toilet. The seat base is a rear-facing horseshoe shape, with upstanding arms and back support. The auxiliary seat provides postural support, by way of contoured sitting surfaces, a deep contoured anterior support. The anterior trunk support is pivotally connected across the front of the seat, to support the trunk and forearms of the user. A separate, adjustable height footrest is provided, the seat having restraint straps that may be individually applied about the knees of the user. A flexible urine deflector is removably insertable at the front of the seat.
