A water system for the admission of pressurized water to spray systems arranged on a powered support assembly for underground mining, having at least one spray system for plow or shearer track spraying and having at least one further spray system for goaf space spraying, canopy spraying and side spraying. A central water line feeds spray nozzles of the spray systems. To increase the operating reliability of the water system and thus of the powered support assembly, the control valves for the spray systems are accommodated in a spray valve block which is provided with a connection for the water line and which can be arranged on the powered support assembly as a unit separated from a hydraulic valve block.

Arrangement for the admission of pressurized water to spray systems

A housing cover for a solenoid housing operable for accommodating solenoids for switching hydraulic directional valves is disclosed. A housing cover box has a plurality of side walls, a top side, and an open bottom side, with first and second actuating guides for guiding first and second solenoid control push rods being located on the top side. A plug connector is located between the actuating guides. At least one screw clearance hole is located at each corner of the housing cover box for locating a screw for joining the housing cover box to the solenoid housing. A sealing plate is located between the housing cover box and the solenoid housing, and at least one mounting foot is located at a corner and on a bottom surface of the housing cover box. A tubular spigot is aligned with and extends each screw clearance hole.

The invention relates to a valve, especially a check valve, for hydraulic plungers () of shield-type support frames in underground mining with a valve housingand a switchable valve insert received therein, connections-for high pressure lines connected to the cylinder chamber and/or the annular space of the hydraulic cylinder, and at least one connectionfor an additional unit such as a pressure relief valve, a pressure sensor, and/or a pressure display. The valve housingcan be mounted to the hydraulic cylinder, and in the mounting stage, the connections-on the valve housingextend axially parallel to the axis of the hydraulic plunger. According to an advantageous further embodiment, the valve housing can be provided with at least one fastening means for an extension housingthat can be mounted in a releasable manner to at least one side wallB thereof for additional hydraulic functions of the shield-type support frame (see FIG.).

A hydraulic shield support is disclosed with at least two adjustable-length hydraulic props supporting a dedicated shield, which are connected through a control bank to a hydraulic fluid supply and borne on base shoes, and to which a pressure in excess of the pressure of the hydraulic fluid may be applied in the set condition of the shield support. In order to provide almost any pressure level at each shield support at a deep face in a simple way, the shield support has at least one pressure intensifier located in a hydraulic pipe system between the hydraulic fluid supply and the hydraulic props, with an oscillating intensifier piston in the form a differential piston effecting the increase in pressure. The low pressure inlet of the pressure intensifier is connected to the setting pressure pipes upstream, and its high-pressure outlet downstream, of a hydraulically-releasable non-return valve.

Hydraulic shield support

A solenoid operated hydraulic valve for electro-hydraulic controlled underground mining installations such as advancing support frame controllers, with an actuator housing holding coil bodies, an armature, a magnetizable core, and an operating pin of at least two solenoids. The head end for the operating pins of each solenoid has a cut-out for an operating stroke adjuster. A head plate removable from the actuator housing is provided with a manual operating device for each operating pin and is fastened to the head end of the actuator housing with a head seal between them, a removable valve block accepting the hydraulic multi-way valves and an interposed base seal fastened to the actuator housing base. A housing having a socket connects to an intrinsically safe current supply and accepts the operating electronics for the solenoids, and is located on the side of the actuator housing. In each head end cut-out, an electronic protective circuit for the associated coil body is arranged.

An electromagnet switching device for hydraulic or electrohydraulic directional control valves, especially applied in advancing supports of underground mining equipment with controllable electromagnets ( A, B) accommodated in a case ( ) and comprising armature ( ), coil bodies ( ), magnetisable core ( ) and switching plunger ( ), whose switching plunger ( ) has a switching end which can be coupled to the closing element of a hydraulic valve ( A, B) and an actuating end ( ) for manual operation, whereby the effective switching lift of the switching plunger ( ) is adjustable. Electromagnet switching device

In the directional control valve ( ) for support mechanisms in underground mining, the valve piston ( ) is guided seal free in the valve seat carrier ( ) between the high pressure connection (P) and a sealing ring ( ) and thus permits an overflow of high pressure fluid from the high pressure connection (P) to the return flow connection (T) on opening the valve ( ). The valve ( ) thus achieves an opening and closing characteristic with negative overlapping and so provides gentle switching processes, so that switching impacts with high pressure peaks do not arise.

A valve arrangement ( ) for hydraulically actuated machinery installations, especially for powered support assemblies in underground mining, with hydraulically actuated working valves ( ) to control hydraulic cylinders ( ) or other hydraulically actuated machinery units of the machinery installation and with pilot valves ( ) controlling the working valves. In order to avoid the pilot valves ( ) and working valves ( ) entering an unstable operating condition in the event of a falling off of pressure in the hydraulic fluid supply to the valves, and opening and closing in an uncontrollable and undesired manner, the pilot valves ( ) are attached to their own pressure medium supply ( ), separate or separable from the hydraulic fluid supply ( ) to the working valves ( ), so that pressure variations in the hydraulic fluid supply circuit do not affect the pressure medium for the switching of the working valves ( ), but the pressure in them is maintained largely constant.

Valve arrangement

The body (1) of the hydraulically trippable check valve for mine support hydraulics according to the invention contains: a valve poppet (13) biased in the closing direction by a spring (22); a control piston (17) which can be acted on by a hydraulic control pressure, causing the poppet (13) to be lifted off its seat (11); and an initial relief valve (20, 21) which can be tripped by the control piston (17) against its spring closing force. Matters are arranged so that the control piston (17) which can be acted on by the hydraulic control pressure is dimensioned in terms of piston surface area (17') so that the poppet (13) of the check valve cannot be lifted off its seat (11) until the opening of the initial relief valve has caused a predetermined initial relief of operating pressure on the high-pressure side. The result is a hydraulically pilot-controlled check valve which has high operational reliability and in which harmful oscillation or chatter of the valve poppet (13) of the check valve and/or control piston (17) cannot occur.

Hydraulically trippable check valve for underground mine support

A valve device for use in an electro-hydraulic mining control system employs a cuboidal housing composed of two separate sub-housings. One sub-housing block has bores containing valve assemblies with cartridges which can be inserted into or withdrawn from the bores via an exterior face. Each cartridge is made up of two elongate sleeve components in screw-threaded engagement. The sleeve components define valve seatings and closure elements are guided in the components and engage on the seatings. A rod couples the closure elements so that when one closure element is on its seating the other is off its seating and vice versa. The closure elements are biased with a spring contained in a bushing fitted into the bore via the exterior face. The bushing is used to rotate the sleeve components relative to one another to adjust the relative position of the valve seatings. At the end of the cartridges remote from the exterior face the other sub-housing plate supports pivotable levers moved by electro-magnetic power to displace the valve closure elements against the spring force. The sub-housing block has internal bores acting as hydraulic connections for the valves and these bores all lead to openings in the same exterior face.

A valve block in a mine hydraulic system contains a non-return valve which is opened when a hydraulic control signal occurs to connect a pressure fluid feed or return line to a working chamber of an appliance such as a prop. A auxiliary valve is mounted in the block and is operated manually to relieve the working chamber even if the non-return valve remains closed.

Valve units for use in hydraulic control systems of mining equipment

A valve device takes the form of a multi-part cartridge with a hollow stepped housing containing a stepped rod. A control piston at one end of the rod is opposed by the force of a main spring in a main chamber remote from the control piston. A valve closure member is axially displaceable relative to the rod. The valve closure member is normally held against a valve seating but pressure on the control piston displaces the rod and causes the valve closure member to be lifted from its seating via stop faces. An auxiliary chamber in the housing leads via a connection to some consumer appliance and forms, the downstream side of the valve. A compensating piston on the rod member opposes a face of the valve closure member open to the auxiliary chamber. A further spring in the auxiliary chamber holds the valve closure member on its seating. The valve can open independently of the control piston should the pressure on the upstream side of the valve exceed the consumer pressure. This upstream side usually leads to either the pressure line or a return line as determined for example, by a change-over valve. The valve closure member will respond reliably to increased pressure on the control piston which only has to overcome predetermined spring force independent of hydraulic pressure in the auxiliary chamber.

Balanced hydraulic valve devices

An electro-hydraulic control system for a mineral mining installation has a series of valve blocks, each contain a number of valves which are operated in dependence on electrical signals to cause hydraulic appliances of roof supports to operate. To allow emergency operation, when there is a power failure or when the control system fails or is otherwise inoperative, further manually operable valves are connected by a flexible, multi-core connecting cable to the valve block of the associated support. The emergency control valves can operate hydraulically controllable direction control valves of the control system and by-pass the electrical controls. The support can then be controlled purely hydraulically, at least in its main functions, using the emergency device.

A valve device has a multi-part housing containing a servo-valve with a stem which is axially displaced to operate the valve and an electromagnet with a rod-like armature which is axially displaced when the electromagnet is energized. A pivotable lever translates the axial movement of the armature to the stem. For adjustment purpose, an adjustment member is in screw-threaded engagement with the lever remote from the stem. The armature is locked for rotation with the adjustment member. A regulator at the opposite end of the armature to the lever and accessible from the exterior serves to enable the armature to be partially rotated for effecting the adjustment.
