A headband includes an angled top section that enables the headband to better conform to the contour of the top of the user's head for a better fit in that area. In addition, the headband may be made of a memory-flex deformable material that enables it to conform to the contour of the top and sides of the user's head for a more comfortable fit in those areas. In some embodiments the headband has generally linear legs and in other embodiment the legs are swept back so they are positioned farther behind the user's ears.

A hair clip has a body of a resilient material and first and second claws. The body has a dome shape and includes an outer perimeter, inner and outer surfaces, and a body plane defined generally by the perimeter. The body also includes a body axis generally central to the body and oriented generally perpendicular to the body plane. The first and second claws are coupled to and extend from the body in a generally axial direction relative to the body. The first and second claws are spaced from and generally opposite one another across the body. The hair clip is movable between an open and a closed position. In the open position, the body protrudes from the body plane in an inward axial direction and the first and second claws are separated from one another. In the closed position, portions of the first and second claws overlap one another.

This invention provides a headband with pliable ends. More specifically, the headband with pliable ends has a curvilinear body integrally formed from an arcuate midsection and two pliable end sections. Each pliable end section extends from opposite ends of the midsection. The arcuate midsection structured and arranged to conform to a generalized top of head shape. The pliable end sections are each structured and arranged to be selectively deformable to conform to a user's side of head shape.

A hair brush includes a brush head and a bristle/handle assembly. The head includes a cylindrical barrel with a plurality of apertures in it, and the bristle/handle assembly includes a handle and a bristle tree assembly. The bristle tree assembly includes a central bristle rod, a plurality of bristles radially extending from the rod, and a connecting rod extending between the bristle rod and the handle. The bristle rod is positioned within the barrel, and the bristles extend through the barrel apertures in an extended position. The brush head and the bristle/handle assembly are not attached to each other, and instead they slide longitudinally relative to each other. When the handle and the barrel are slid apart from each other, the bristle rod travels with the handle to retract the bristles to a retracted positioned further within the barrel.

A hair clip has two body members pivotally coupled together by a spring-biased hinge mechanism. Each body member has a handle section and a hair-gripping section with the hinge mounted between them. The hair clip can have at least one handle-deflecting opening in each handle section to form at least one handle-flexing region where the handle sections can deflect outwardly into a low-profile flexed position. A mechanical stop may be provided to limit inward deflection. The hair clip can also have at least one teeth-deflecting opening in each hair-gripping section to form at least one teeth-flexing region where the hair-gripping sections can deflect into a low-profile flexed position.

A hair clip having two body members pivotally coupled together by a concealed-spring hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism includes a housing and a spring concealed within the housing in normal use of the hair clip. In typical commercial embodiments, the housing is integrally formed with a first one of the body members in a one-step process. The housing defines an inner-end access opening through which the spring is inserted during the manufacturing process. The access opening is closed off by a second one of the body members when the hair clip is assembled for use. The hair clip may be manufactured with the housing initially fabricated on the first body member in a one-piece construction.

The invention is directed to a pony tail holder including a friction member for more effectively engaging the strands of hair in the pony tail to prevent slippage of the pony tail holder during use. The pony tail holder may include a fabric ring having an annular area at least a portion of which comprises a tubular annulus around a central hole in which a pony tail is to be gripped by the pony tail holder, and an elastic core disposed within the tubular annulus of the fabric ring and extending around the central hole. The pony tail holder may further include a friction member woven into the fabric ring proximate an inner edge of the fabric ring such that at least a portion of the friction member is exposed through the outer surface of the fabric ring and engages the pony tail when the pony tail holder is disposed thereon, with the coefficient of friction of the friction member being greater than the coefficient of friction of the outer surface of the fabric ring.

This invention provides a unitary hair clip. More specifically, provided is an elastic midsection with a first portion extending from the midsection, the first portion having a first width. A second portion extends from the midsection opposite from the first portion. The second portion provides an aperture having a second width greater than the first width. The aperture is adapted to receive the first portion. The first portion, the second portion and the elastic midsection are formed as a contiguous seamless structure.

This invention provides a flexible seamless hair clamp. More specifically, the flexible seamless hair clamp has a contiguous body portion. The contiguous body portion has a first leg member having a unitary first distal end and opposite thereto a first lever region, and a second leg member having a unitary second distal end and opposite thereto a second lever region. A curved bridging portion is disposed between and formed integrally with the first and second leg members proximate to the first and second lever regions. The bridging portion connects the first and second leg members in a manner such that each is oppositely juxtaposed with respect to each other and arranged to bias the distal ends into proximate contact with one another. Collectively, the first leg member, curved bridging portion and second leg member define a continuous concave surface within the contiguous body.

A grip for a graspable item having a body and a handle connected to and extending outwardly away from the body. The grip includes a hollow core configured to slide onto the handle, and a hollow sleeve having a plurality of outwardly extending ribs disposed on the external surface of the sleeve. The sleeve is configured to slide onto the exterior of the core such that the core and the sleeve define a cavity therebetween. The grip further includes a quantity of a gel disposed within the cavity. The ends of the sleeve are sealed against the corresponding ends of the core to retain the gel within the cavity, and the gel allows the sleeve to deform to conform to the shape of a user's hand when the handle of the graspable item is grasped by the user.

The present disclosure is generally directed to headwear and, more particularly, to headwear, including hats, visors, head wraps, head ties, bandanas and the like, that include interwoven gripping fibers, such as rubber threads or other materials having increased gripping or frictional forces beyond that of the materials from which the headwear are typically fabricated, integrated into the headwear and positioned to engage the skin and/or hair of the wearer to improve the retention of the headwear when worn during physical activities.

A hair retaining clip including a first clip member, a second clip member, a hinge, an elastic member is disclosed. The first and second clip members each include a handle portion and a claw portion. The hinge is disposed between and pivotally connects the first and second clip members. An elastic member is disposed between and connects to the first and second clip members thereby biasing the claw portions of the respective first and second clip members together.

A hair retaining clip includes a base, a locking arm, a hinge, and a locking mechanism. The base includes a first end, a second end and a first elongate section that is resiliently movable relative to the base. The locking arm includes a first end, a second end, and a second elongate section that operatively engages the first elongate section in a closed position. The hinge is disposed on and pivotally connects the first ends of the base and the locking arm. The locking mechanism is disposed on the second ends of the base and the locking arm for locking the clip in a closed position.
