Seat systems and vehicle audio systems are provided. In one example, a seat system includes a seat including at least a first armrest, and a first acoustic element attached to the first armrest and configured to radiate acoustic energy to a surface in a forward facing direction of the seat.

A VOIP service and method is provided which comprises an redirecting dialer device (RDD), which connects a telephone to a POTS circuit. Responsive to DTMF signals from the telephone representative of a long telephone distance number, the RDD intercept the DTMF signals and transits alternative DTMF signals representative of an alternative telephone number of a PSTN/VOIP gateway server. Once connected to the PSTN/VOIP gateway server, the RDD then transmits the DTMF signals associated with the original long distance number. The VOIP gateway server is operative to convert the analog signals from the telephone into digital and packetized VOIP data which is transmitted through a public or private IP-based network to a remote telecommunication device associated with the original long distance telephone number. If the DTMF signals from the telephone are representative of a local telephone number, the RDD is operative to forgo transmitting the alternative DTMF signals.

Method and system for providing VOIP services

A first electro-acoustic transducer and a second electro-acoustic transducer are supported by a housing attached to a baffle to form an asymmetric acoustical system. An equalizer receives an input signal and generates an equalized signal which is transmitted to the second electro-acoustic transducer. The equalizer is configured to generate the equalized signal such that a net mechanical force acting on the baffle, generated by the first electro-acoustic transducer in response to the input signal and by the second electro-acoustic transducer in response to the equalized signal, is less than the net mechanical force that would be generated if the equalized signal were unchanged in magnitude and equal or opposite in phase to the input signal.

A method and apparatus for automated detection of mobile phone usage by drivers of vehicles includes at least one mobile phone signal receiving device, at least one image capturing device, at least one infrared illuminator and at least one computer. The mobile phone signal receiving device is operative to detect a mobile phone signal transmitted from a vehicle. The at least one image capturing device is operative to capture infrared light reflected off of the driver of the vehicle. The at least one computer is operative to store, in a storage device, information associated with at least one of the mobile phone signals transmitted from the vehicle and the at least one image of the vehicle. The information stored in the storage device may be used to determine if a person associated with the vehicle should be prosecuted for illegal use of a mobile phone while driving the vehicle.

A sound reproduction system in a vehicle includes an acoustic package including an electroacoustic transducer and a sound duct that carries the sound from the electroacoustic transducer. The sound duct carries the sound to an outlet at a location in the vehicle at which radiated sound efficiently drives selected audio modes of the vehicle.

Preserving an audio signal in an audio system includes selecting a first audio signal from a plurality of audio signals. The first audio signal is applied to a first transducer. Mix a portion of the first audio signal with a second audio signal from the plurality of audio signals to provide a mixed audio signal. A gain of the first audio signal that is applied to the first transducer is decreased while a portion of the mixed audio signal is applied to a second transducer to preserve at least a portion of the first audio signal.

An apparatus for reducing baffle vibration includes a baffle that is subject to vibration. A first transducer that is seated in the baffle includes a first diaphragm that is acoustically coupled to a listening area in a vehicle and also acoustically coupled to a cavity in the vehicle. A first input signal applied to the first transducer causes the first diaphragm to move in a first direction, thereby generating an acoustic output. A second transducer is mechanically coupled to the first transducer. The second transducer includes a second diaphragm that is acoustically coupled to the first diaphragm and also acoustically coupled to the listening area. A second input signal applied to the second transducer causes the second diaphragm to move in a second direction that is substantially opposite to the first direction to reduce a vibration imparted to the baffle while substantially maintaining the acoustic output.

A vehicle trunk woofer is a low frequency speaker disposed within the trunk of a vehicle so as to be separated from the vehicle passenger compartment by a dividing portion and a rear deck. The dividing portion may be a fixed element or a movable element, such as a fold down rear seat. The speaker mounted in the trunk may be mounted in an enclosure and may be mounted adjacent to the dividing portion, but is not mounted to the rear deck.

The apparatus may include a detection system comprising at least one mobile phone signal receiving device, at least one image capturing device, and at least one computer. The mobile phone signal receiving device is operative to detect a mobile phone signal transmitted from a vehicle. The at least one image capturing device is operative to capture at least one image of the vehicle. The at least one computer is operative to store in a storage device, information associated with at least one of the mobile phone signal transmitted from the vehicle; and the at least one image of the vehicle. The information stored in the storage device may be used to determine if a person associated with the vehicle should be prosecuted for illegal use of a mobile phone while driving the vehicle.

An electro-acoustic transducer includes a magnet assembly having a first magnetic flux gap and a second magnetic flux gap. A first voice coil is positioned in the first magnetic flux gap. A first diaphragm is mechanically coupled to the first voice coil and to a frame. The first voice coil moves the first diaphragm in a first direction in response to receiving a first input signal. A second voice coil is positioned in the second magnetic flux gap. A second diaphragm is mechanically coupled to the second voice coil and to the frame. The second voice coil moves the second diaphragm in a second direction that is substantially opposite to the first direction in response to receiving a second input signal. The movement of the second diaphragm reduces a vibration imparted to the frame by the movement of the first diaphragm.
