A container for food and beverages with a fully opening end panel is provided. An end closure of the container has a generally circular end panel defined by a score line. A rotational opening tool is providing for contacting the end panel and separating the end panel from the score line upon rotation of the tool.

The present invention describes an apparatus used in conjunction with a metallic container adapted for processing, storing and heating foodstuffs in a microwave oven, and more specifically, a substantially metallic stackable container with a microwavable transparent portion, metallic reinforcing member, and a selectively removable lid, wherein the same container can be used to store, ship, heat, and serve a foodstuff to a consumer.

An extrusion blow mold for forming a plastic bottle having a radial flange suitable for roll-form attachment to a metal can end. The mold has a pair of confronting mold halves, each mold half including a body forming portion, a bottom pinch-off portion located below the body forming portion, a top block portion including a blow chamber located above the body forming portion, and a spin-ring forming portion located between the body forming portion and the top block portion. The spin-ring forming portion includes a thread ring insert and a cutter ring insert. The thread ring insert has an inside upper edge including an outwardly extending surface terminating in a step defining a lower surface and a outer edge of a radial flange. The cutter ring insert is positioned immediately above the thread ring insert. The cutter ring insert has a lower surface adjacent an inside edge defining an upper surface of the radial flange including a tapered inner edge extending upward and inward from the step. At least one of the thread ring insert and cutter ring insert includes a relief surface connected to a vent channel to permit gas to escape from the area defining the radial flange.

The present invention relates to a method for processing, storing and heating foodstuffs in a partially metal microwavable bowl, and more specifically, a substantially metallic stackable container with a microwavable transparent portion and a selectively removable lid, wherein the same container can be used to store, ship, heat, and serve a foodstuff to a consumer.

A container for food and beverage products, and more specifically, a substantially metallic container with a microwavable transparent portion and a selectively removable metallic lid, wherein the container can be used in a conventional microwave oven.

A resealable container is provided with a twist opening end closure which is suitable for storing perishable solids and liquids, and in one embodiment an easy open tab feature to facilitate venting.

Various embodiments of a sealing member disposed between a container body and an endpiece attached thereto are disclosed, as well as a method for disposing a sealing member between an endpiece and a container body. In one embodiment, a sealing member is disposed within a space between a container body flange and a corresponding portion of the sidewall of the container body, is disposed between a space between an endpiece flange and a corresponding portion of an endpiece wall, and is further disposed between the endpiece flange and container body flange. As such, the sealing member has a generally S-shaped configuration in cross-section. At least one and preferably two scores are incorporated on the sealing member to facilitate at least a partial removal of the endpiece from the container body so as to be able to access the contents of the container. In another embodiment, a sealing member is removed from between the endpiece and container body, and at least one mechanical purchase exists between the endpiece and container body to provide a 'reclosability' feature.

An open-ended container body is covered, preferably sealingly, by an endpiece/sealing-member. An annular flange of the endpiece/sealing-member is captured by crimping with a container body flange. The endpiece/sealing-member flange is coupled to the remainder of the endpiece/sealing-member by a tear strip which, upon removal, permits the remainder of the endpiece/sealing-member to be fully or partially removed from the open end of the container. The tearstrip is preferably integrally formed with the remainder of the endcap.
