The present invention is directed generally to tools that are lightweight, high quality, durable, rigid and strong. For example, various tools used to level items and/or as a straight edge for aligning or drawing lines on items may be designed in an improved or augmented beam style so that they are lightweight, strong, durable and rigid so as to hold their shape under stress or return to their original shape after being stressed. In various exemplary embodiments, the beam style level and/or straight edge may have a first main elongated side to which two elongated perpendicular sides are connected or coupled. At least one or more higher strength elongated sides, for example a second elongate side, may be comprised of a closed or generally rectangular shaped. For example, the second elongated side may be, for example, a generally rectangular shaped construction with at least one curved side.

Apparatus and methods for level and/or straight edge tools

A method and system that controls pet access to various different locations and/or objects. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention provides an automated system whereby pets wearing an ID tag are allowed access to various locations and/or objects, such as food contained within a feeder dish for example, while a sensor system, responding to the presence of other animals or people, causes the device to close preventing unauthorized access thereto. The feeder further includes one or more sensors using ultrasonic, infrared technology or both in combination for the identification of both tagged and non-tagged animals or children. Further embodiments employ the system to control access to litter boxes, pet toys, pet watering systems, pet gate access, pet containment systems or pet doors.

Method and system for providing preidentified pets selective access to a predetermined location or object

A method and system is provided that controls pet access to various different locations and/or objects. An electric iron includes a storage base. The iron includes a switch for selectively connecting the iron to a source of electrical power. The iron is automatically disconnected from the source of electrical power when the iron is placed in the storage base.

A spray nozzle for an electric iron includes a nozzle cap having an outlet orifice formed in a first end wall thereof. The cap includes an axially extending cylindrical wall defining an axially extending bore. A fluid flow coupling is inserted into a second end wall of the cap and includes a valve seat. A movable valve member is disposed within the bore and is operable to direct fluid through the outlet orifice when fluid flows through the bore towards the outlet. The valve member moves within the bore into engagement with the valve seat when flow of fluid through the bore is terminated.

An electric iron includes a soleplate and a housing connected to the soleplate. The housing forms a water reservoir. An opening is formed in an outer wall of the housing. A valve seat is formed adjacent the top of the opening. A float valve having a specific gravity less than one is movably disposed within the reservoir. The valve moves into engagement with the valve seat to prevent the flow of water through the opening when the water level in the reservoir raises the valve into engagement with the valve seat.
