An end fray resistant textile sleeve includes an elongate wall having warp yarns extending generally parallel to a longitudinal central axis of the sleeve and fill yarns extending circumferentially about the sleeve. The warp yarns include at least two different types of yarns, with one of the types of warp yarns including activateable yarns and another of the types of yarns including non-activateable yarns. The activateable yarns can be provided as being activateable by at least one of heat, fluid and/or pressure, such that upon being activated, the yarns are caused to bond with the adjacent non-activateable warp yarns, as well as with the weft yarns with which they make contact. As such, the activateable yarns, upon being activated, become fixed with abutting warp yarns and weft yarns, thereby inhibiting end fray from resulting during a subsequent cold-cutting operation as well as in use.

Wrappable end fray resistant woven protective textile sleeve and method of construction thereof

A protective textile sleeve and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve has a knit, tubular wall extending lengthwise along a central longitudinal axis between opposite ends. The knit wall has a first state with a decreased length, increased cross-sectional area, as viewed in cross-section taken generally transversely to the central longitudinal axis, and a second state with an increased length, decreased cross-sectional area, as viewed in cross-section taken generally transversely to the central longitudinal axis. The wall includes knit, heat-set yarns imparting a bias on the wall, wherein the bias causes the wall to remain substantially in the first and second states absent an externally applied force.

Knit textile sleeve with self-sustaining expanded and contracted states and method of construction thereof

A textile sleeve for protecting elongate members against EMI and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve includes a wall having opposite edges extending lengthwise in generally parallel relation with a longitudinal axis between opposite ends. The opposite edges are configured to overlap one another to bound a central cavity extending between the opposite ends. The wall includes warp filaments, extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, woven with weft filaments, extending generally transversely to the warp filaments. The warp filaments include substantially electrically non-conductive multifilaments woven in a plain weave pattern with the weft filaments and electrically conductive members woven with the weft filaments to form a plurality of floats, with each of the floats extending over at least two adjacent ones of the weft filaments.
