A variable speed swim spa system wherein the user can choose between a combination of speeds with two or more pumps connected through a manifold to one or more swim jets. Check valves are used on all but the first pump to prevent backflow of water effluent and can be placed inside the manifold or between the pumps and the manifold. A user interface attached to electronic controls and operating software allow the user to program his preferred speeds with the one more jets using the two or more pumps.

Variable speed swim spa system

A pop-up water jet assembly comprises a housing having a vertical, central axis, an upper end, a top surface, a lower end, an interior and a water inlet adjacent to the lower end communicating with the interior of the housing. A pop-up member having an upper portion, a top surface, a lower portion and an interior in communication with the interior of the housing, is movable relative to the housing between a raised position in which the upper portion of the pop-up member extends from the upper end of the housing and a lowered position in which the top surfaces of the housing and the pop-up member are substantially flush. The upper portion of the pop-up member carries a water outlet nozzle communicating with the interior of the pop-up member and having an axis at an angle to the axis of the housing to discharge water directed in a trajectory away from the pop-up jet assembly, the pop-up member being movable to its raised position in response to water flow admitted into the housing through the inlet and to its lower position under gravity bias upon termination of the water flow. The water discharged from the outlet nozzle may be illuminated by an optical fiber or LED light source mounted within the housing. Also disclosed is a water reservoir system such as a spa incorporating a pop-up water jet assembly in accordance with the invention.

Pop-up water jet assembly

A hydrotherapy jet for providing a pulsating water stream comprises a jet body, and a water inlet to allow a stream of water into the body. A water outlet allows the stream to exit the body and a movable ball within the body causes said stream of water to pulsate as it exits the body.

A lighted panel system for a tub wall comprising a light diffusing panel, a light source that illuminates the light diffusing panel, and a mounting structure that couples the light diffusing panel to the tub wall. The light diffusing panel comprises a formed transparent or translucent sheet to which the light source is mounted. The light source comprises a plurality of light emitting diode lamps mounted on a circuit board protected by a circular rubber boot that attaches to a rear surface of the light diffusing panel such that light rays are dispersed in a principally lateral direction, parallel to the wall of the tub. A plurality of the lighted panel systems are preferably installed side by side along the length of a tub wall at the water line, an arrangement that allows for continuous lighting coverage and creates a new ambient effect.

A spa speaker system is disclosed having a housing with a speaker mounted within it. The housing is movably mounted to a track with the housing extendible and retractable from the top of the track. A spring is arranged to urge the housing to extend from the top of the track. A latching mechanism is operable to hold the housing in its retracted position and is thereafter operable to release the housing. The housing extends from the track when the housing is released by the latching mechanism. A system for providing audio to a reservoir of water is also disclosed. The system comprises a reservoir shell capable of holding water and at least one speaker system according to the invention mounted to said reservoir shell above the water line. Each of the speaker systems is independently extendible from the shell.

Retractable spa speaker system

A pulsating hydrotherapy jet is disclosed which has a jet body with a water inlet to allow water to flow into the body. The jet body discharges the water through a discharge member in more than one concentric pattern. A cap mounted on the body to receive the circular water patterns is also disclosed. The cap has a number of openings that form more than one concentric opening ring. Each of the opening rings align with a respective one of the circular water patterns to provide the sensation of a number of circular patterns of multiple pulsating jets. A system for providing a hydrotherapy jet to a reservoir of water is also disclosed. The system includes a reservoir shell capable of holding water with a number of hydrotherapy jets according to the invention that are mounted around the reservoir shell. A water pump system circulates water from the reservoir to the jets.

Double pulsating hydrotherapy jet

A hydrotherapy jet is disclosed which has a jet body with a water inlet to allow water to flow into it. An eyeball with one or more outlets is mounted to the body to allow water to flow out of the body through the outlets. The flow of water through the outlets causes the eyeball to rotate. A retaining pin is mounted within the jet body to hold the eyeball to the body, with the eyeball rotating around said pin. A system for providing a hydrotherapy jet to reservoir of water is also disclosed and includes a reservoir shell capable of holding water with a plurality of hydrotherapy jets according to the invention that are mounted around the reservoir shell. A water pump system circulates water from the reservoir to said jets.

A plurality of water injection nozzles (16) are spaced around the tub (12) of a hydrotherapy spa (10) for injecting a pulsating flow of water and air into the main body of water (14) in the tub (12). The pulsation is produced by a distribution valve (30), (80) including rotor (46) , (92) which is rotated by the inlet water flow and distributes the inlet water to outlets (40,42,44), (90) which are connected to the nozzles (16) respectively. The rotor (46), (92) is formed with a groove (48), (96) which sequentially aligns with and connects the outlets (40,42,44), (90) to the inlet (34), (86). Since each outlet (40,42,44), (90) is periodically connected to and disconnected from the inlet (34), (86), the water is supplied to each nozzle (16) in a pulsating or chopped manner. The sequence in which the water is distributed to the nozzles (16) is fixed, enabling a rippling effect to be produced in which the pulsation appears to rotate around the spa (10).

A hydrotherapy jet has a push-pull adjustment that enables a discharge to be turned off or on without rotating the discharge nozzle. This allows an off-axis discharge, useful for a neck massage, to be maintain in a constant direction despite adjustments in the discharge flow level. Inlets are provided in the rear of the nozzle, with the inlets closed off by a surrounding sleeve when the nozzle is pushed in but exposed to receive a discharge flow when the nozzle is pulled out. The sleeve is carried by a mounting member, with water flow passages to the nozzle inlet formed between the sleeve and its mounting member. The adjustment mechanism is preferably contained within a pivotable eyeball fitting, and air passageways can be added to provide a mixed water/air discharge.
