The present invention essentially comprises an application, software, system, method and combinations thereof that allow using a mobile phone's location-determining capabilities, compass, and camera, an application on the mobile device that can be used to display characteristics of weather within a predetermined distance from the mobile device by querying a remote server to gather information on the attributes about the weather within the predetermined radius of the device location.

Weather event visualization application for mobile devices

The present invention essentially comprises a system, method, computer program and combinations thereof to utilize dual-polarization generated data generally associated with weather and non-weather events for mapping data, producing geo-referenced data, producing mosaics, generation of precipitation masks, non-precipitation mask, and classification masks in general, production of vertical cross sections and predetermined fly throughs, producing short term forecasting, prediction of specific weather phenomenon, correcting or adjusting rain gauge data as well as quantitative precipitation estimation, and combining other meteorological data to correct or adjust estimated rainfall accumulation gathered by dual-polarization radar.

Dual-polarization weather radar data system and method

A method, system, apparatus, and device provides alert information to a user of a device. In response to an alert notification of an alert, one or more alert geographical tiles of interest that are affected by the alert of a plurality of geographical tiles are determined; one or more location-enabled devices each having a location that falls within an alert geographical tile of the one or more alert geographical tiles are determined; a portion of the alert is retrieved from an alert database and processed to generate a media version of the alert; an alert text notification of the alert having the text portion of the alert, an alert identifier of the alert, a reference identifier for the media version of the alert, the one or more alert geographical tiles, and the one or more one or more device identifiers for each of the one or more devices is constructed; the one or more device identifiers for each of the one or more devices, the alert text notification and the alert identifier of the alert is retrieved and the alert text notification is transmitted to the one or more devices corresponding to the retrieved one or more device identifiers.

Alert information is provided to a user of a device. In response to receiving an alert notification, a current location of the device is determined and converted to a device geographical tile that encompasses the determined current location; alert data received about the alert are processed and stored in an alert database if it is determined that a device tile code of the device geographical tile matches any alert geographical tiles that define the alert; a database query of the alert database is performed to identify alerts having one or more alert geographical tile codes that match the device tile code that have not been presented to a user of the device; and the user of the device is notified via the user interface of the device of the identified alerts and the user is prompted to view the identified one or more alerts via the user interface of the device.
