Systems and methods can identify or determine one or more of the candidate route segments of a worksite to modify in order to improve battery usage and/or battery health for one or more vehicles upon future traversal of the one or more candidate route segments by the one or more vehicles. The one or more candidate route segments can be identified using terrain data, battery usage data, and/or battery health data. The one or more identified candidate route segments can be output on a display device. Selection of one or more identified candidate route segments can cause display of battery usage improvement information and/or battery health improvement information.

Systems and methods for identifying modifications to terrain characteristics of a worksite for battery performance

A system can assign a machine to dispense material at designated areas along a route at a worksite. For example, the machine can be an electric water truck on a mine site, and the electric water truck can be assigned to spray water at areas along a route to control dust on the mine site. The system can verify that the machine is carrying enough material to dispense along the assigned route. The system can also verify that the battery of the machine is charged to a level sufficient to power travel of the machine through the assigned route and to power operations to dispense the material, based at least in part on a changing amount and/or weight of the material as the machine progresses along the route.

Battery management for electric material- dispensing machine

A service vehicle can have a service vehicle battery that can provide energy to, and/or receive energy from, a separate machine that is normally configured to operate based on energy provided by a battery of the machine. If a machine becomes unable to operate using the battery of the machine, the service vehicle can travel to the machine and use an energy transfer arm to transfer energy to the machine. In some situations, the service vehicle and the machine can travel together in a convoy formation, for instance to a maintenance station, while the service vehicle provides the machine with energy for driving operations of the machine.

Machines can operate based on electricity received from a charging rail system installed along a route at a worksite. Sensors on the machines capture image data indicating locations and/or orientations of components of the charging rail system. Machine controllers of the machine, and/or a worksite controller, can monitor the integrity of the charging rail system by detecting possible faults if the locations and/or orientations of one or more components vary by more than a threshold amount from target locations and/or orientations. The machine controllers and/or the worksite controller can also initiate one or more response actions when a possible fault in the charging rail system is detected.

Monitoring integrity of charging rail system

A control system is programmed for monitoring the health and charge of batteries used to power a battery electric machine (BEM) or other heavy equipment and determining when maintenance, service, or replacement should be performed for the batteries as a function of data related to travel route segments over which the BEM or other heavy equipment is operated. The control system is programmed to receive historical information mapping the performance and energy consumption of a BEM or other heavy equipment, such as battery state-of-charge, power usage, battery state-of-health, and number of charge cycles for a battery supplying power to the BEM or other heavy equipment operating over a travel route segment, and instruct an operator to replace or perform maintenance on the batteries if the difference between present and historical performance exceeds a threshold level.

Machine and battery system prognostics

Systems and methods for controlling fluid delivery on a site using at least one fluid delivery machine are disclosed. An exemplary such method includes identifying at least one path on the site based on map information associated with the site, calculating a fluid delivery requirement of the at least one path based on environmental information associated with the site, and dispatching a fluid delivery machine on a mission to treat the at least one path with fluid based on the fluid delivery requirement.

Methods and systems for controlling fluid delivery missions on a site

A mobile fluid delivery machine has a communication device configured to receive fluid delivery mission instructions that identify a sequence of path segments on a site and corresponding fluid delivery allocation information for the path segments, and a location device determining the location of the mobile fluid delivery machine. It also has a fluid delivery system including a display device and at least one processor that is configured to identify the fluid delivery allocation information for the path segment that corresponds to the location of the mobile machine on the site, and to determine, based on the fluid delivery allocation information for the path segment that corresponds to the location of the mobile machine on the site, a fluid delivery rate for the path segment. The processor is also configured to cause the display device to display an indication of the determined fluid delivery rate for the path segment.

Methods and systems for executing fluid delivery mission

A head mountable display system includes a visual image system, a head mountable display device including a display screen, and a headset pose sensor system. A controller is configured to generate a camera image based upon the image data, generate an augmented reality overlay based upon the position and the orientation of the operator's head relative to the work site, determine an image to be rendered on the head mountable display based upon the camera image and the augmented reality overlay, and render the image on the display screen.

A method is disclosed for calibrating a vehicle model used to autonomously control a machine on a worksite. The method may include measuring a first value indicative of an operating condition of the machine, predicting a second value, using the vehicle model, corresponding to the first value and indicative of the operating condition, and determining a difference between the first value and the second value. The method may also include autonomously directing the machine to a calibration site of the worksite in response to determining that the difference between the first value and the second value is greater than a predetermined threshold, wherein the calibration site is automatically selected from a plurality of locations at the worksite based on a suitability index of the calibration site.

Method of managing a worksite

A positioning system and method for determining a position of a machine on a worksite are disclosed. The method may store a map of the worksite which includes one or more known objects in the worksite. The method may determine whether a locating device associated with the machine is accurately providing the position of the machine. The method may also include detecting one or more objects in the worksite. The method may further determine an unmatched object from among the detected objects that does not match the one or more known objects stored in the map. The method may also store the unmatched object in the map as a known object of the worksite.

Positioning system utilizing enhanced perception-based localization

A method and system for providing remote vision to a remote operator with respect to a plurality of machines includes a remote vision system with one or more display screens and a receiver for receiving video information and machine information from each of the one or more machines. A controller console is linked to the remote vision system and the receiver, and is configured to calculate a priority ranking of the plurality of machines based on the received machine data and to display the video information from each machine as one or more video displays on a display screen wherein at least one of the one or more video displays is modified in appearance and/or position or duration of placement based on the priority ranking.

View prioritization for multi-machine control visualization

A data management system is disclosed for use with a plurality of machines operating at a worksite. The data management system may have a plurality of onboard sensory devices, each configured to generate data regarding at least one of machine performance and worksite conditions. The data management system may also have a plurality of onboard locating devices, each configured to generate a machine location signal. The data management system may further have a plurality of onboard communication devices, and a worksite controller. The worksite controller may be configured to receive the data and the machine location signals from onboard the plurality of machines via the plurality of communication devices, trigger an event based on the data received from onboard at least a first of the plurality of machines, and selectively retrieve data from at least a second of the plurality of machines based on event triggering.

Worksite data management system

A method is disclosed of modifying a worksite for calibrating a vehicle model used to autonomously control a first machine on the worksite. The method may include receiving a signal from the first machine indicative of an aspect of the vehicle model in need of calibration. The method may also include determining, in response to receipt of the signal, that the worksite includes a calibration site having a characteristic corresponding to the aspect of the vehicle model, and that calibrating the aspect of the vehicle model requires modifying the characteristic of the calibration site. The method may further include autonomously modifying the characteristic of the calibration site with a second machine at the worksite, and directing the first machine to the modified calibration site for autonomous calibration of the aspect of the vehicle model.

Method of modifying a worksite

A mobile fluid delivery machine for delivering fluid to a site has a tank storing fluid, and at least one spray head configured to spray the stored fluid onto the site. In addition, the machine has a communication device configured to receive fluid delivery mission instructions from a site computing system, the mission instructions identifying a sequence of path segments on the site and corresponding fluid delivery amounts allocated to the path segments, and a location device configured to determine the location of the machine on the site. Th machine may also have a fluid delivery system configured to determine whether the location of the fluid delivery machine corresponds to a path segment of the sequence, and when it is determined that the location of the machine corresponds to a path segment in the sequence, to identify the fluid delivery amount allocated to that path segment based on the mission instructions.
