A mechanism for attaching a harvesting assembly to a combine having a multicoupler which connects hydraulic lines on the combine with hydraulic lines on the harvesting assembly as two halves of the multicoupler are brought together, and a latching mechanism which mechanically couples the harvesting assembly to the combine, the latching mechanism being operatively connected with the multicoupler to shift between latched and unlatched modes as the multicoupler is shifted between connected and unconnected modes.

Multifunction latch for a combine

A straw chopper for a combine harvester having a chopper housing mounted to a combine for rotation about a transverse axis. The housing is movable from a chopping position, in which the chopper receives straw from the separator of the combine and chops and spreads the straw over a wide area, to a rearwardly raised windrowing position, in which straw falls from the combine to the ground in front of the chopper housing. By rotating the housing rearward and upward, increased access into the rear of the combine is possible. An electric motor driven lift actuator is provided to raise the chopper housing to the windrowing position where a mechanical latch locks the housing to the combine structure.

Straw chopper housing

A mounting bracket for an axial separator rotor tooth. The bracket is provided with extended portions that are welded to the rotor tube. Extending radially outward from the extended portions are bracket legs. A middle portion extends between the bracket legs and is provided with a bolt locating slot. A central enlarged opening is formed in the bolt locating a slot. The head of a mounting bolt, for bolting the tooth to the bracket, can be inserted through the enlarged opening. As the mounting bolt is moved outwardly from the enlarged opening the bolt head is captured between the middle portion of the bracket and the rotor tube.

Tooth mounting assembly for axial separator

An agricultural combine having a pair of side-by-side axial separators. Each of the axial separators comprises a cylindrical tube, a rotor housed in the tube, an inlet and an outlet. An axial air stream is directed along the top of the axial separator to remove dust, chaff and other debris that may accumulate there. The air stream is intercepted from the cooling fan of an internal combustion engine by duct work that directs the air stream to a deflector located above the axial separators. The deflector forms a forward axial air stream component and a rearward axial air stream component. Exhaust openings are formed in the sidewalls of the combine to vent the forward air stream component. An exhaust gap is formed at the rear of the axial separator to vent the rearward air stream component.

Air blast for cleaning axial separator

A row straddling dual wheel arrangement for the drive wheels of a self-propelled combine harvester comprises two highly offset dished wheels, back-to-back with central mounting flanges abutting, clamped to the combine drive axle wheel flange by conventional wheel bolts. Temporary installation in the axle flange of pilot studs and use of a retainer rod facilitate mounting and dismounting procedures in which the wheels may be handled essentially individually and then more safely.
