A housing has a sidewall that surrounds an interior cavity that has an open rear end and an open front end, and is divided by a partition into a top cavity and a bottom cavity. The top cavity extends to the open rear end, the bottom cavity extends to the open front end. A power supply circuit board is inside the top cavity, while a light source is inside the bottom cavity and emits light through the open front end to illuminate a room. First wires pass through an opening in the partition, and are coupled to the power supply circuit board at one end and to the light source at another end, to deliver power to the light source. A lid or cover covers the open rear end enclosing the top cavity, and is secured to the housing. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Lighting module for recessed lighting systems

A recessed lighting unit for mounting to a ceiling or a wall is provided. The recessed lighting unit includes a thermally conductive housing, a light source module inside the housing, and an optical plate. The housing maybe engaged to a universal adapter through a simple twist and lock mechanism. The clips enable the universal adapter to be attached to junction boxes and recessed lighting can-type housings of different sizes. The universal adapter can receive different types of clips, without the use of screws, adhesives, or tools to attach the clips to the adapter. Such a recessed lighting unit may have a reduced set of components while ensuring its adaptability and easy installation. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

A recessed lighting unit for mounting to a ceiling or a wall is provided. The recessed lighting unit includes an interface module having a through-duct. The through-duct may be coupled to a wire connector assembly to secure an electrical wire to the interface module and allow the electrical wire to reach a light source module. The wire connector assembly may be twisted and locked to the interface module without the use of tools. The lighting trim may be snapped on to an interface module through the use of a flexible retainer ring. The lighting trim may also be twisted and locked to an interface module without the use of tools. The present invention provides for a reduced set of components while ensuring adaptability and easy installation of lighting units. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Recessed lighting unit with wire connector

A compact recessed lighting system is provided. The lighting system includes a light source module, a heat sink, a lens, a set of electrical contacts, and a set of trims. Each of these elements of the lighting system may be coupled to an integrated interface module. The recessed lighting system provides a reduced set of components while ensuring adaptability and easy installation into a structure. In particular, by including an integrated interface module that allows the light source module, the set of trims, the lens, and the heat sink to be easily replaced with minimal tools and minimal fasteners, the recessed lighting system described herein provides a more efficient and user friendly design in comparison to traditional systems.
