A method and system create a model of a set of relationships between a set of parent computer network objects and a set of corresponding child computer network objects, over a period of time, and output a user interface graphing the model in a single view to illustrate the set of relationships over the period of time. The parent computer network objects include virtual machines and the child computer network objects include hosts. The user interface includes a search option to provide for a search of problems with the child computer network objects over the period of time.

Automatic creation of graph time layer of model of computer network objects and relationships

A computer program product is tangibly embodied on a computer-readable medium and includes executable code that, when executed, is configured to cause a data processing apparatus to display multiple objects in a single pane, where the multiple objects are visual representations of real objects and the multiple objects are dynamically sized and spaced relative to one another to fit all of the objects in the single pane. The computer program product includes executable code that, when executed, causes the data processing apparatus to display a subset of the objects and associated metadata in an examination frame. The examination frame is sized to fit within the single pane, where the subset of the objects displayed within the examination frame are sized larger than the objects outside of the examination frame.

Systems and methods for displaying and viewing data models

A window detector may detect that an off-screen portion of a window is not visible within a display that is providing the window, the off-screen portion including at least one window control element. A control identifier may determine at least one supplemental control element corresponding to, and providing analogous functionality of, the at least one window control element. A control view generator may provide the at least one supplemental control element visibly within the display. A supplemental window controller may execute the analogous functionality with respect to the window, based on receipt of user input by way of the at least one supplemental control element.

Off-screen window controls

A layer manager provides at least two content layers within a user interface window of a software application. A tab manager provides at least two content tabs within at least one of the content layers. A transfer manager is configured to transfer at least one content tab between the at least two content layers.

Display window with multi-layer, parallel tab display

A computer program product is tangibly embodied on a computer-readable medium and includes executable code that, when executed, is configured to cause a data processing apparatus to display multiple objects in a three dimensional (3D) representation, where the multiple objects are visual representations of real objects, and display a subset of the objects and associated metadata in a shaped lens that is movable within the 3D representation in all three axes, where the subset of the objects displayed within the shaped lens are sized larger than the objects outside of the shaped lens.
