Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment, a method and/or system for mobile identity authentication is disclosed. For example, mobile identity authentication may be employed in a variety of situations, including purchases, financial transactions, granted access to accounts, granting access to content, etc.

System and method for paying a merchant by a registered user using a cellular telephone account

Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, for example, a method and/or system is provided to at least authenticate a mobile subscriber that has been registered via a registration process comprising. A current international mobile subscriber identifier (IMSI) associated with a mobile telephone number received electronically via a network is queried. A database entry created via the registration process including an IMSI associated with a received mobile telephone number at the time of mobile subscriber registration is also queried. At least the current IMSI and the IMSI of the database entry are compared. Account status of the mobile subscriber based at least in part on a match between the current IMSI and the IMSI of the database entry is verified. Verifying the account status includes determining creditworthiness with respect to the account of the mobile subscriber.

System and method for authentication of a registered mobile subscriber

A system and method allows users to make purchases utilizing a mobile subscriber account.

Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment, a home country associated with a current mobile telephone number for a mobile subscriber is identified. Other countries, such as the following are also identified: a country in which the mobile subscriber is using the internet; a country in which the mobile subscriber is roaming, is operating a current mobile telephone associated with the mobile subscriber's mobile provider account or is operating a current mobile telephone having a SIM card associated with the mobile subscriber's mobile account; a country in which a merchant for a transaction is located; and/or a country in which goods in the transaction, if any, are being shipped. The countries are compared and scoring is employed to facilitate identification of a suspicious transaction.

System and method for detecting a suspicious transaction

Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment, a mobile subscriber is registered for authentication. Registering the mobile subscriber, in an embodiment, includes querying the mobile service provider of the mobile subscriber for an international mobile subscriber identifier (IMSI) of the mobile subscriber at the time of registration and creating an authentication database in which a database entry includes at least: a mobile telephone number for the mobile subscriber and the IMSI of the mobile subscriber.
