A motor assembly includes a commutator having a shaft extending axially therefrom, a commutator end bracket assembly, and at least two brushes carried by the commutator end bracket assembly and in contact with the commutator. A seal is carried by either the commutator or the commutator end bracket assembly and has engaging contact with the other. The seal may be disposed on either or both sides of the commutator.

A flywheel/motor assembly is disclosed that comprises a motor housing having a sidewall and an end wall extending substantially perpendicularly from the sidewall. The end wall enclose a motor assembly having a rotatable shaft extending therefrom. The motor housing has at least one air flow opening therethrough. A flywheel is coupled to the shaft, and includes a pulley side and a motor side opposite the pulley side, wherein the motor side is aligned substantially with the end wall and does not extend over the sidewall. A plurality of vanes are associated with the flywheel, wherein adjacent vanes form channels therebetween. A ring is coupled to the plurality of vanes and at least partially encloses the channels and forms exhaust ports away from the shaft. Rotation of the flywheel draws air through the motor housing's openings into the channels and out the exhaust ports. The pulley side may include balancing bores for receiving balancing material to balance the finished assembly. An angular interference fit between the flywheel and motor shaft may also assist in balancing the finished assembly. A ventilation fan system may also be connected to the shaft at an end opposite the flywheel.

A molded through-flow motor assembly has a motor housing, including a cup portion and a flange portion. The flange portion includes a plurality of ramp surfaces extending outwardly therefrom. The cup portion has a field retaining wall and guide rib extending inwardly therefrom on opposite sides of the housing. A diffuser plate is provided having a plurality of scalloped ramp surfaces on a first side thereof adjacent to a plurality of air inlet apertures which open into air chambers on the second side thereof. The field and armature portions of a motor assembly are mounted in the motor housing and the diffuser plate is fitted to the flange portion of the housing such that the ramp surfaces abut one another to form a continuous ramp surface from each air inlet aperture into the air chambers. A rotating fan member is mounted to the armature shaft and is housed within a shroud cover fitted to the motor housing. In operation, air is directed through the shroud cover by the rotating fan and into the air chambers by way of the air inlet apertures and ramp surfaces. Air is directed over the field and armature assemblies and out through vent cutouts in the cup portion of the housing.

A fish stringer for use in tournament fishing is provided having a weight indicator attached thereto which can be manually adjusted to indicate the weight of the fish attached to the stringer. A clip attached through the fish's gill and thereby fastens the fish to a suitable cord which attaches to a floating weight indicating device. The weight indicating device contains a number of disks bearing numbers which may be manually rotated to create a display of the weight of the fish. This device floats on the surface of the water and thereby allows a fisherman to efficiently locate the lightest fish held in his live well.

A brush holder clip and connector for motors and generators is provided in the form of an integral V-shaped spring steel member having an electrical connector extending from one of the legs thereof and opposite an apex of the clip and connector. The housing containing the commutator has a slot therein through which the brush holder passes. The V-shaped clip and connector is inserted into the slot and wedged between the brush holder and an edge of the slot. The clip and connector is electrically conductive and communicative with the brush holder 22 and is adapted for mating interconnection with a wire or other conductor.
