An integrated power rack for use in a data center is provided. The integrated power rack includes a top, a base, a first side and a second side extending between the base and the top, a back member extending between the top, the base, the first side, and the second side, a divider extending from the top to the base, the divider positioned between the first side and the second side, a revenue sub-compartment defined between the first side and the divider, the revenue sub-compartment configured to receive a plurality of revenue producing devices, and a power sub-compartment defined between the second side and the divider, the power sub-compartment housing power equipment that is configured to provide direct-current (DC) power to the revenue sub-compartment.

Integrated power racks and methods of assembling the same

A power distribution rack includes a chassis that defines a first slot and a second slot adjacent the first slot. The power distribution rack also includes a plurality of electronics modules including a first module coupled within the first slot and a second module coupled within the second slot. A central bus bar assembly is coupled to the chassis and includes an outer bus bar including a first flange, a second flange, and a first bus plate extending therebetween. The first and second flanges and the first bus plate define a first channel. The bus bar assembly further includes an inner bus bar coupled within the first channel. The inner bus bar includes a third flange, a fourth flange, and a second bus plate extending therebetween. The first and third flanges are coupled to the first module and the second and fourth flanges are coupled to the second module.

An apparatus for effecting electrical termination with a plurality of types of termination structures includes: (a) a base member presenting a face in a first direction; and (b) a plurality of electrically conductive connection members extending in the first direction from the face. Each respective connection member of the plurality of connection members presents a rod-shaped post. Each post has a first portion presenting a threaded structure and has a second portion presenting an unthreaded structure. The rod-shaped post of selected connection members may further include a tapped opening located along a longitudinal axis of the respective connection member.

Apparatus and method for effecting electrical termination with a plurality of types of termination structures

One aspect provides a pluggable power management module, comprising a module housing having input and output pluggable connectors extending therefrom configured to be couplable to a corresponding input and output terminals of a conventional, generic distribution panel, a controller interface located on or within the module housing and couplable to a controller, and a sensor located within the module housing and coupled to the controller interface and configured to produce a signal to the controller, that determines that a minimum or maximum threshold voltage or current of a source/load coupled to the pluggable power management module has been reached based on the signal.

An apparatus for effecting electrical connection between a power source and equipment includes: (a) a first conductor having a first aperture; (b) a second conductor having a second aperture; (c) an insulator having a connecting bore coaxial with the first and second apertures to establish a bridging passage extending a bridging distance to traverse the first conductor, the insulator and the second conductor when assembled with the first conductor and the second conductor substantially parallel separated by the insulator; and (d) a bridge having an axial length at least equal with the bridging distance and a transaxial dimension less than the passage diameter and having a first engagement structure in the first aperture and a second engagement structure in the second aperture when the bridge is engaged; the bridge is removable from engagement to interrupt electrical connection between the power source and the equipment.

Apparatus and method for effecting electrical connection between a power source and equipment

For use with a battery plant coupled to a source of electrical power and having a power bus coupled to a load, the battery plant including a battery string coupled across a pair of rails of said power bus, a battery management system, method of operation therefor and battery plant employing the same. In one embodiment, the battery management system includes a DC/DC converter, couplable in series with the battery string, adapted to condition a voltage provided to the battery string as a function of a characteristic of the battery string. The battery management system also includes a switching circuit, coupled across the DC/DC converter, adapted to selectively decouple the DC/DC converter from the battery string thereby allowing the battery string to power the load.

Battery management system, method of operation therefor and battery plant employing the same

The present invention is directed to a fuse bypass module that may be used with a corresponding fuse panel. The fuse bypass module may be used with a primary fuse receptacle, located on the fuse panel. The primary fuse receptacle has terminals coupled to a power source and a load, respectively. In one embodiment, the a fuse bypass module may be used with a primary fuse receptacle having terminals coupled to a power source and a load, respectively. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the fuse bypass module comprises a housing that has a bypass fuse receptacle for receiving a bypass fuse. Additionally, the fuse bypass module includes an electrical connector on the housing that is electrically coupled to the bypass fuse and that is removably couplable to a fuse panel electrical connector, which is associated with the bypass fuse panel. The fuse bypass module is couplable to the fuse panel to allow the bypass fuse receptacle to be coupled in parallel with a primary fuse and further allow the primary fuse to be removed without interrupting power to the load.

For use within an equipment cabinet having a rear wall, a pair of opposing side walls projecting forwardly from the rear wall to define a cavity within the cabinet and first and second central bus bars routed within the cavity, an equipment module and methods of manufacturing the equipment module and equipment cabinet employing the module. In one embodiment, the module includes: (1) a bracket having a forward-projecting portion with a rear mount and a front face portion with a side mount, the bracket installable within the cabinet to define first and second segregated pathways within the cavity by coupling the rear mount to the rear wall and the side mount to one of the pair of side walls and (2) an electrical element, mechanically coupled to the bracket and electrically couplable to the central bus bar.

Equipment module and cabinet and methods of manufacture thereof

A protection device for an electrical circuit comprises a housing assembly, a fuse support structure that is comprised of a conductive material and that can be coupled to the housing assembly, a main fuse that can be mounted to the fuse support structure to receive a flow of current therefrom and a trip fuse mechanically mounted to the main fuse by electrical contacts. The electrical contacts not only secure the trip fuse to the main fuse, but also provide a conductive path across the main fuse and through the trip fuse. In some embodiments, a momentary switch may be coupled to the trip fuse. In such instances, the trip fuse is configured to activate the momentary switch when a predetermined excessive current flows through the trip fuse and may be electrically connected to a current indicator that indicates when the excessive current flows through the trip fuse.

Battery protection fuse assembly

In a battery handle two bands of webbed material are each arranged and threaded to independently engage a plurality of slots at opposing ends of a support housing in which a battery is enclosed. Each end includes six slots arranged in pairs of slots. The longitudinal/major axis of the two uppermost slots are at an angle to the horizontal and the major axis of the remaining four slob are substantially horizontal. In another aspect, the band of webbed material is threaded through two or more slots and the ends are joined together. Another technique loops the ends and expands the loop with a mechanical insert to lock it to the support housing. Many variations of the invention will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art which do not depart form the spirit and scope of the invention.
