The method includes receiving, by one or more computing devices, a measurement from a sensor. The method includes assigning, by the one or more computing devices, a time to the measurement. The method includes storing, by the one or more computing devices, the received measurement and the assigned time to a file. The method includes transmitting, by the one or more computing devices, the file to a remove computing device associated with a ground system.

Systems and methods for recording and communicating engine data are provided. One example aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a method for communicating engine data. The method includes receiving data. The method includes separating the data into categories. For one or more categories, the method includes creating a file including the separated data. For one or more categories, the method includes naming the file, at least in part, based on the category and based on a file naming convention. The method includes prioritizing the created files. The method includes transmitting an identification file comprising identification information for a wireless communication unit and the file naming convention. The method includes transmitting the created files based on the priority.

Systems and methods for recording and communicating engine data are provided. One example embodiment is directed to a system for testing communications. The system includes an electronic engine controller. The system includes a wireless communication unit in communication with the electronic engine controller. The wireless communication unit includes one or more memory devices. The wireless communication unit includes one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to provide a resource to a remote computing device. The one or more processors are configured to receive input from the remote computing device via the resource. The one or more processors are configured to cause a connectivity test to be performed in response to the received input. The one or more processors are configured to transmit a result of the connectivity test to the remote computing device.

The method includes generating a pair of keys, wherein one of the pair of keys is a private key, and wherein one of the pair of keys is a public key. The method includes transmitting the public key to a first remote computing device, wherein the first remote computing device transmits the public key to a second remote computing device. The method includes receiving a host key from the first remote computing device, wherein the first remote computing device received the host key from the second remote computing device. The method includes accessing the second remote computing device using the private key. The method includes verifying a request from the second remote computing device using the host key.

The method includes receiving a request to store first data in a first memory location in one or more memory devices. The method includes receiving the first data, wherein the first data is associated with identification of an engine, and wherein the first data includes parameterized data. The method includes storing the first data in the first memory location. The method includes receiving a request to store second data in a second memory location in the one or more memory devices, wherein the second memory location is reserved for data to be transmitted to the ground system. The method includes transmitting, by one or more computing devices, an identification file to one or more second computing devices associated with a ground system. The method includes automatically retrieving, by the one or more computing devices, a loadable software aircraft part for data load from the one or more second computing devices associated with the ground system. The method includes performing, by the one or more computing devices, a data load using the loadable software aircraft part. The method includes determining, by the one or more computing devices, if the data load was successful. The method includes transmitting, by the one or more computing devices, the determination to the one or more computing devices associated with the ground system.

Remote data loading for configuring wireless communication unit for communicating engine data

One example aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a wireless communication unit configured to be located in a nacelle associated with an engine of an aerial vehicle. The wireless communication unit includes a random access memory. The wireless communication unit includes one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to perform a first data validity check on a first location for a primary index. The one or more processors are configured to perform a second data validity check on a second location for a secondary index. When the first data validity check fails and the second data validity check fails, the one or more processors are configured to reboot.

Systems and methods for recording and communicating engine data are provided. One example aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a wireless communication unit. The wireless communication unit includes one or more memory devices. The wireless communication unit includes one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to access data indicative of one or more transmission parameters, each of the one or more transmission parameters being associated with an aerial vehicle. The one or more processors are configured to select one wireless network of a plurality of wireless networks based on the accessed data. The one or more processors are configured to connect with the selected wireless network. The one or more processors are configured to transmit engine data from the wireless communication unit to a ground system via the selected wireless network.

Systems and methods for recording and communicating engine data are provided. One example aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a method for encapsulating data. The method includes receiving, by one or more computing devices, a message via an aviation messaging protocol. The method includes encapsulating, by the one or more computing devices, the message in a packet, wherein the packet comprises a User Datagram Protocol format. The method includes transmitting, by the one or more computing devices, the packet via an Ethernet connection.
