Disclosed herein are novel light-emitting materials of Formula I and II below. These new complexes are synthesized and found to be sufficiently stable to allow sublimation and vacuum deposition. These new emitters are electrophosphorescent and can be used in organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) for device elements capable of emitting light of color ranging from orange to red with high-efficiency and high-brightness.  wherein E=Group 16 elements (including sulphur); M=Group 10 metal (including platinum); R-Rare each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen; halogen; alkyl; substituted alkyl; aryl; substituted aryl, with substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, lower alkyl and recognized donor and acceptor groups. Rcan also be selected from (C&#x2261;C)R, where (C&#x2261;C) represents a carbon-carbon triple bond (acetylide group), n is selected from 1 to 10, and Ris selected from alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, and tri(alkyl)silyl.

Organometallic light-emitting material

Disclosed herein are novel light-emitting materials of Formula I and II below. These new complexes are synthesized and found to be sufficiently stable to allow sublimation and vacuum deposition. These new emitters are electrophosphorescent and can be used in organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) for device elements capable of emitting light of color ranging from orange to red with high-efficiency and high-brightness. 

A catalyst compound of formula I or II:  (wherein R&#x2013;R, M, E, T, X, Y, m and n are defined herein). The compound, when combined with a suitable activator, is active for the polymerization of olefins. In an embodiment of combinations of the R&#x2013;Rand T groups, these catalysts can engage in weak attractive non-covalent interactions with the polymer chain. In another embodiment, the R&#x2013;Rgroups in formula II exhibit weak attractive non-covalent interactions with the polymer chain.

Cyclometallated catalysts

An olefin polymerization catalyst system is prepared from a catalyst of formula I or II:R&#x2013;Rand R&#x2013;Rin formulae I and II, respectively, are each independently &#x2014;H, -halo, &#x2014;NO, &#x2014;CN, &#x2014;(C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl, &#x2014;O(C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl, &#x2014;N((C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl), &#x2014;Si((C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl), &#x2014;(C&#x2013;C)heterohydrocarbyl, -aryl, or -heteroaryl, each being unsubstituted or substituted with one or more &#x2014;Rand &#x2014;Rgroups, respectively. Two R&#x2013;Rcan be joined to form a cyclic group. Rin formula I is -halo, &#x2014;(C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl, &#x2014;O(C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl, &#x2014;NO, &#x2014;CN, &#x2014;Si((C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl), &#x2014;N((C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl), &#x2014;(C&#x2013;C)heterohydrocarbyl, -aryl, or -heteroaryl. T in formula I is &#x2014;CRR&#x2014; wherein Rand Rare defined as for Rabove. Ris independently -halo, &#x2014;NO, &#x2014;CN, &#x2014;(C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl, &#x2014;O(C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl, &#x2014;N((C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl), &#x2014;Si((C&#x2013;C)hydrocarbyl), &#x2014;(C&#x2013;C)heterohydrocarbyl, -aryl, or -heteroaryl. E, M, m, X, Y, and n in formulae I and II are defined herein.
