A bolster system having a first bolster device, a second bolster device, and an adjustable tether that includes a one-way pre-tied slideable adjustment knot. The adjustment knot is at a first position prior to insertion of the first bolster device into a passageway in one or more bones. The second bolster device includes a body portion having an outer portion that is sized to be received in the passageway and/or in an aperture of a bone plate. The body portion also includes a channel that is sized to accommodate recessed and/or embedded placement of the pre-tied slideable adjustment knot. The second bolster device can also include an oversized plate portion that abuts against a cortex of a bone or a wall of a bone plate. The second bolster device can also include a threaded member or retention tab that lockingly secures the second bolster device to a bone plate.

Apparatus and method for joint repair

Embodiments of the invention include instruments () and methods useful in delivering graft material () to a surgical site. Some embodiments may particularly be directed to forming a graft () and accurately and effectively handling and delivering the graft () to a surgical site arthroscopically. Graft material () may include blood components such as clotted fibrin derived from a patient's or a donor's blood.

Graft preparation and delivery instruments and method

A retro guidewire reamer includes a cutting member, and a mechanism for moving the cutting member from a closed position to a deployed position in a single manual motion. Once a desired size of a bone tunnel is established, a surgeon uses the reamer to create a primary bone tunnel over a guidewire from the outside in. The surgeon retracts the guidewire, and activates the mechanism to deploy the cutting member within the bone joint to conform to the size of a tendon graft. The surgeon uses the deployed cutting member to create a counter bore through the bone in a retrograde manner. Once the counter bore is drilled, the surgeon activates the mechanism to close the cutting member, allowing the reamer to be withdrawn through the primary tunnel. The retro guidewire reamer can be used to provide more accurate bone tunnel placement during ligament reconstruction surgery.

Featured is an implant/anchor deployment device/module, a device kit concept using such an implant/anchor deployment device/module, a system for deploying an implant/anchor into tissue, and a method for treating damaged tissue using such an implant/anchor deployment device/module such as for example, a method for deploying one or more anchors/implants during a meniscal repair procedure. Such a deployment device/module includes a body member having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, the distal end portion being configured so that an implant/anchor can be deployed therefrom. Also, the proximal end portion is configured so as to be removably attached to a first end portion of the surgical device. In exemplary embodiments, the surgical device includes a suture cutter as known in the endoscopy arts.

Modular tissue repair kit and devices and method related thereto

According to a first configuration, a hand tool is configured to include a shaft, a handle disposed at a proximal end of the shaft, and a tubular tip disposed on a hinge at a distal end of the shaft. The tubular tip pivots about the hinge, providing a way to steer a resource to a specific location in a medical site. In accordance with a second configuration, a hand tool includes a flexible section of tube, a flexible sheathing, and a link. The flexible sheathing encases the flexible section of tube. At least a portion of the link resides between an outer surface of the flexible section of tube and an inner surface of the flexible sheathing. One end of the link is affixed to a distal tip of the flexible section of tube. Pulling on the link causes the flexible section of tube to arc.

Cannulated guide tools

An anchor delivery tool is described. The tool includes a shaft and a handle coupled to a proximal portion of the shaft. The handle includes a hub, with a knob and a nose cone coupled to the hub. The knob and nose cone may be spring loaded so as to selectively retain a length of suture disposed therebetween. The tool further includes an anchor, such as a suture anchor, coupled to a distal portion of the shaft.

Anchor delivery system

The present disclosure relates to a device for use during ligament reconstruction surgery. The device includes a handle and a shaft coupled to the handle, the handle including a first channel for housing of an insert, a second channel, a third channel for housing of the shaft, a first window, a second window, and a groove. A method for use during ligament reconstruction surgery is also disclosed.

Device and method for use during ligament reconstruction

A surgical device includes a first member, deformable to move a pair of opposing projections toward one another. The projections are received in a pair of opposing openings in a second member, so the first member can pivot relative to the second member about an axis defined by the projections. In another aspect, a surgical instrument includes a first pinless joint pivotably coupling a first jaw to a second jaw, a second pinless joint coupling a distal end of an actuating member to the first jaw, and a third pinless joint coupling a handle to a proximal end of the actuating member. The third pinless joint translates movement of the handle into axial movement of the actuating member, and the second pinless joint translates axial movement of the actuating member into pivotable movement of the first jaw relative to the second jaw about the first pinless joint.

Suture passing

The present disclosure relates to a method of creating a bone tunnel during ligament reconstruction surgery. The method includes placing a guide wire through the femur, the guide wire having a first end portion including a pointed tip and a second end portion; placing a drill mechanism over the first end portion of the guide wire, the drill mechanism having a first end portion including a drill bit and a second end portion including an attachment portion; coupling an adaptor assembly to the attachment portion, the adaptor assembly including a shaft; coupling a drill to the shaft and operating the drill to create a tunnel in the femur; coupling a drill bit assembly to the second end portion of the guide wire and locating the assembly against the drill bit of the attachment portion; and operating the drill to create a counter bore within the tunnel.

Retrodrill system

An assembly and method for reattaching tissue to bone from which the tissue had detached including a tissue fixation member will with a narrow cross section and a suture securely attached to the fixation member, the fixation member being configured to secure the detached tissue, a suture anchor fixable in bone at the region of reattachment, the anchor having an eyelet, the anchor including a textured outer surface, the suture having a free end passable through the eyelet to enable the detached tissue to be drawn into engagement with the bone at the region of reattachment.

Tissue-to-bone reattachment

A tissue graft attachment device includes a platform member including a leading edge and a trailing edge connected to the leading edge by a pair of sides. The platform member defines a pair of slots extending along a longitudinal axis passing between the leading edge and the trailing edge, and an opening between the pair of slots and the leading edge. The device includes a first suture passing through the opening, a second suture passing through one of the slots, and an attachment member passing through the pair of slots to form a loop. A method for attaching a tissue graft includes providing the tissue graft attachment device, forming a bone tunnel, pulling on the first suture to pull the platform member through the bone tunnel, and pulling on the second suture to position the platform member on the bone tunnel.
