A vehicle axle includes first and second wheel hubs, first and second shafts, a hub lock, and a plug assembly. The first and second shafts extend into the first and second wheel hubs, respectively. The hub lock is configured to selectively couple the first shaft to the first wheel hub. The plug assembly is fixedly coupled to the second wheel hub and is fixedly coupled to the second shaft such that the second wheel hub, the second shaft, and the plug assembly rotate in unison.

Axle system for a vehicle

A vehicle axle includes a housing defining a sump, a gear assembly and a baffle. The gear assembly includes a ring gear disposed within the housing. The ring gear is configured to pump fluid throughout the housing. A pinion gear is meshed with the ring gear. The baffle is disposed within the sump and connected to the housing. The baffle has a first part being configured to control fluid flow across the ring gear and a second part attached to the first part. The second part is configured to control fluid flow across the pinion gear.

The present invention in one or more embodiments provides a device to measure backlash of an equipment powertrain, where the device includes a head to attach to the equipment powertrain, and a body to support the head, the body including a first connector via which a predetermined amount of torque is to be applied to the equipment powertrain through the body and the head, and a positional change of the equipment powertrain in response to the predetermined amount of torque being indicative of a backlash measurement.
