The drive mechanism () further comprises a nut member () which is selectively rotationally lockable with respect to the housing (), wherein the drive mechanism () is switchable between a setting mode of operation and a dispensing mode of operation. The drive mechanism () is configured such that in the setting mode of operation, the nut member () and the piston rod () are rotatable with respect to the housing (), and in the dispensing mode of operation, the piston rod () is rotatable with respect to the housing () and the nut member () is rotationally locked with respect to the housing (), wherein, when the piston rod () rotates, the piston rod () moves distally with respect to the nut member ().

Drive mechanism for a drug delivery device

An assembly for a drug delivery device includes a dose setting member to be moved by a user from an initial position to a dose sett position and a housing part. The dose setting member and the housing part are connected to form a housing of the assembly. The assembly includes an activation member coupled to the dose setting member to convert a rotation of the dose setting member with respect to the housing into a proximal movement of the activation member with respect to the dose setting member when the dose setting member is moved from the initial position to the dose set position. The activation member has a proximal end section extending from an activation face of the activation member, where in the initial position of the dose setting member, the proximal end section is fully in or slightly protrudes from the proximal end of the housing.

A medicated module for an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle. The medicated module is initially in a locked state until attached to a drug delivery where interaction of the cartridge holder with the module bypass housing changes the module to a triggerable state. The medicated module does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a biasing member automatically activates the reservoir when the needle guard is retracted when the module is in the triggerable state. The needle guard prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after removal from the injection site.

The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device such as an injector for self-administration of a medicament. Those using such devices are often infirm or have impaired vision. Also there is a need to display the amount of the dialed dosage of medicament on the rotatable knob in figures sufficiently large and clear to be legible by those having a degree of impaired vision. There is disclosed a dose dial mechanism for a medicament delivery device having a housing, the dose dial mechanism comprising a dose dial element having a first thread for engagement with the housing and a dial sleeve member having a second thread for engagement with the housing; in which the dial sleeve member is coupled to the dose dial element so as to allow relative axial movement and inhibit relative rotational movement therebetween, and in which the pitch of the second thread is different from the pitch of the first thread so as to cause a different axial displacement of the dial sleeve member during axial displacement of the dose dial element.
