A method may include accessing a terminal branch of an ophthalmic artery through a face of a subject. Additionally, the method may include positioning a device within the ophthalmic artery of the subject and treating at least one of a blockage, a stenosis, a lesion, plaque or other physiology in at least one of the ophthalmic artery or a junction between an internal carotid artery and the ophthalmic artery.

Systems and methods for treating eye diseases

A method may include accessing an artery in communication with an ophthalmic artery of a subject, and advancing a microcatheter along the accessed artery so as to align a distal end of the microcatheter with an ostium of the ophthalmic artery, wherein the microcatheter includes a lumen having a guidewire positioned therein. In addition, the method includes proximally withdrawing the guidewire relative to the microcatheter so as to enable a distal portion of the microcatheter to assume a curved relaxed configuration, and cannulating the ostium with the distal portion of the microcatheter when the distal portion is in the curved relaxed configuration.

Intravascular devices, systems, and methods to address eye disorders

A method may include delivering a first catheter to a location within an arterial vasculature of a subject. The location may include at least one of an internal carotid artery of the subject or a junction between an ophthalmic artery of the subject and the internal carotid artery of the subject. The method also may include moving a second catheter relative to the first catheter so as to reorient a direction of a distal opening of the second catheter, the second catheter being connected to the first catheter at a joint.

A method of treating an eye of a patient may include positioning an expandable strut structure within at least one of an internal carotid artery, an ophthalmic artery, or an ostium at a junction between the internal carotid artery and the ophthalmic artery. A method of inducing retrograde blood flow may include extending a sheath through opposite walls of one of an artery and a vein of a subject and through a wall of the other of the artery and the vein such that a distal end of the sheath may be positioned within one of the artery and the vein. The method may include inducing retrograde blood flow in the artery and delivering the induced retrograde blood flow into the vein of the subject via the sheath.

A method may include positioning a first device within an internal carotid artery of a subject and impeding antegrade blood flow in the internal carotid artery. Additionally, the method may include delivering a pharmaceutical agent through an external carotid artery for passage into an ophthalmic artery of the subject.

Ophthalmic artery therapy under reverse flow

A method for treating at least one of an ophthalmic artery or an ostium between the ophthalmic artery and an internal carotid artery of a subject may include delivering a microcatheter to a location within vasculature of the subject. The method may further include delivering a filter to a location within at least one of the ophthalmic artery or the ostium and transitioning the filter between a first delivery configuration and a second deployed configuration. Further, the method may include deploying a stent to a location within the internal carotid artery.

Methods and devices for treating an eye using a filter

The devices and methods of the present invention provide a means to depress the sclera in such a fashion as to provide single point, multiple point, semicircular or 360&#xb0; circumferential scleral tissue depression without the need for manual manipulation of the scleral depressor. The device comprises a shaped depressor for insertion between the sclera and the orbit of the eye and a holding means for positioning the depressor. In some embodiments the device can be integrated with a speculum. Use of the device eliminates the need to have a second person manipulate the depressor during the procedure and directly enables bimanual surgery.

Devices and methods to provide hands free scleral depression during ophthalmic procedures

A method may include inflating a first balloon within an internal carotid artery so as to block antegrade flow of blood into an ophthalmic artery. Additionally, the method may include maintaining antegrade flow of blood in the internal carotid artery via a perfusion lumen in the first balloon. Further, the method may include inserting a device into the ophthalmic artery via a lumen extending through a portion of the first balloon to a side opening in the first balloon.

A method for treating tissue of at least one of an internal carotid artery, an ophthalmic artery, or an ostium between the internal carotid artery and the ophthalmic artery of a subject may include expanding a first expandable device of a first device in the internal carotid artery. The method also may include delivering a second device in the ophthalmic artery via the first device and expanding a second expandable device of the second device in the ophthalmic artery. Further, the method may include adjusting a radial position of the second expandable device relative to the first expandable device.
