A pad painter system includes a pad painter having a base portion and a handle portion extending from the base portion, an applicator pad detachably secured to the base portion, and a lock mechanism having a lock tab of the base portion and an tab opening of the applicator pad. The lock tab extends into the tab opening to retain the applicator pad to the pad painter. The lock tab is formed at an edge of a wall and an opening is formed in the wall adjacent to the lock tab so that the lock tab can be resiliently deflected out of the tab opening to release the applicator pad. The base portion can include a tab flange extending out from the wall that extends inwardly from the edge at opposed sides of the lock tab and around the lock tab to stiffen the wall area by the lock tab.

Provided is a container including a container body, a bail removably attached to the container body, a lid removably attached to a top of the container body, and a flexible band attached to the container body. The flexible band is movable between a first position spaced a first distance from the rear, a second position spaced a second distance from the rear less than the first distance to allow the container body and the bail to be grasped at the rear without interference by the flexible band, and a third position spaced a third distance from the rear greater than the first distance to provide space for a user's hand between the rear of the container body and the flexible band.

One or more technique and/or systems for a coating roller assembly, including a coating applicator cage frame and a frame wire. The roller assembly can comprise a handle coupled with the frame wire configured to operably hold the coating applicator cage frame. Bearings can be fixed to the coating applicator cage frame at its both ends. Instead of using typical pinning or swedging techniques for holding the bearing, a sleeve can be crimped into place over a treated surface of the frame wire between the second end and third bend (). In this way, for example, the structural integrity of the frame wire can be substantially maintained, providing for improved durability and a longer life for the roller assembly.

In an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein a modular toolbox that is designed and organized for the storage and transport of painting tools. The modular toolbox has modules that are separably stacked and is designed to include storage for painting tools such as, for example, brushes, roller frames, roller covers, putty knives, lights, and an extension pole with compartments allowing for the storage and transport of personal items. In particular embodiments, the modular toolbox includes specific storage capabilities for wet tools so that they can be stored and transported to a different location for cleaning.

Provided is a tool that includes a handle assembly including a top portion and a bottom portion. The tool also includes a lock plate disposed between the top and bottom portions and having a deflectable arm having a free end biased towards the top portion, a fixed end opposite the free end, an inner edge, an outer edge, and a detent near the free end and the inner edge. The tool additionally includes a blade having first and second ends, an indent in a bottom surface of the blade near the first end for engaging the detent in a closed position, and a ramp on the bottom surface near the indent defining a reduced thickness portion of the blade that reduces in thickness from the indent towards an edge of the blade to reduce contact between the detent and the blade during rotation of the blade.

Provided is a container having a container body, a bail attached to the container body, and a flexible band attached to a rear of the container body. Provided is an application apparatus for a coatings material. The application apparatus includes a supporting element extending along a first axis and having a first end and a second end. A first arm is coupled to the first end of the supporting element, and a second arm coupled to the second end of the supporting element. A first fastener attached to, and movable with respect to, the first end of the supporting element and detachably fixed to the first arm. Further, the first arm is configured to slide along the first axis.
