A side garnish molding assembly for use in a motor vehicle is provided which includes inner and outer panels and a partition extending between and integral with the inner and outer panels. The assembly also includes an air curtain cavity defined by the partition in combination with the inner and outer panels and at least one deployable air curtain disposed in the cavity.

A method of installing trim rings to headliner trims systems in motor vehicles comprising a trim ring, a headliner, and a sonic horn and stack. The sonic horn vibrates to bond/weld headliner to trim ring. Energy directors can be added to facilitate bonding/welding process. Fasteners can also be added for attachment to the vehicle body. This bonding/welding of the headliner to trim ring creates a smooth, molded look for the trim ring and does so without gapping to or sliding within the headliner.

A lateral track movement system for a display screen attached to the ceiling of a motor vehicle utilizing a dockable connector. This system allows the display screen to slide across tracks to any desired position along the track for more comfortable viewing of the display screen by the passengers in the motor vehicle. This system allows for the display screen to utilize a dockable connection so that the electrical connection is made at the point of connection, which is outside of the interior of the ceiling or side panels. This lateral track movement system comprises an upper reinforcement assembly, a carrier assembly, a lower reinforcement assembly, at least one wire, and a spool.

A vehicle headliner assembly includes a first structural member cooperating with a second structural member to form air ducts between them. A portion of the first structural member is covered by a decorative cover that presents an appearance surface to the vehicle passenger compartment. Integrally formed in the second structural member are an energy absorbing structure and an attachment structure. Thus, the headliner assembly eliminates the need for separate air ducts, separate energy absorbing material, and separate wiring harness and hose clamps. The headliner assembly is also configured to facilitate attachment of passenger compartment devices such as grab handles, without the use of separate fasteners or retainers.
