The invention relates to a method of transmitting data between and/or synchronising at least two welding devices () or current sources or with another component and another device, which are supplied with energy via a supply network (), whereby the functions of the welding process are controlled and/or regulated by means of a control system () of the welding device (). The data, signals and welding parameters or synchronisation signals to be transmitted from a welding device () or a welding current source or another component and another device, in particular by a processor, a PLC controller, a data module or a computer, etc., are converted by means of a communication unit () into a data protocol which is then modulated by a communication unit (), in particular a modulation module (), across the supply network (). The modulated data protocol is demodulated and processed by means of the preferably integrated communication unit (), in particular by means of a demodulation module (), of another welding device () or a current source or another component or another device, and another data exchange, in particular a two-way data transfer, is optionally run.

Method for transmitting data and/or synchronizing at least two welding devices and device therefor

The invention relates to a method of linking several current sources, in particular several welding devices (), plasma current sources or similar. Operating individually and independently of one another, a process control and/or regulating system () in every welding device () transmits desired values to a voltage-to-current controller of a power component (). The power component () supplies a consumer connected to output jacks () with power on the basis of the desired values. For the purposes of the invention, several welding devices () of the same and/or a different power rating or having the same and/or different machine specifications, are linked to one another on the secondary-side via the output jacks (to) to form a welding device () with a physically higher power output, whereby the interconnected welding devices () are digitally interconnected via a digital interface () which is known per se and/or a special digital connecting interface () for a data exchange. The invention describes a method of continuously controlling and tracking a position of a welding torch () and welding head relative to a weld seam to be produced on a workpiece (), whereby the welding torch (), spaced at a distance apart from a workpiece () and the weld seam, effects a pendulum motion which is superimposed on its linear welding motion, during which state variables, in particular an ohmic resistance or a current and/or a voltage, are detected as they change in time.
