For a long stator linear motor comprising a switch and secure guidance of the transport vehicles in the direction of movement along the transport track, it is provided that the transport vehicle (Tn) is force-guided, at least in sections, in the direction of movement (x) outside the switch (W), and at least one one-sided track section () is provided on the transport track (), along which a vehicle guide element () only on one side of the transport track () interacts with the track guide element () on the assigned side of the transport track () for the mechanical forced guidance in the direction of movement (x), and the forced guidance in the direction of movement (x) in the transverse direction (y) is canceled in the region of the switch (W).

Long stator linear motor

Transport device having a transport route, with a turnaround portion to change orientation of a transport unit by 180&#xb0; in the longitudinal direction along the transport route, including a turnaround portion with an entrance connected to a first transport route portion by a first entrance end and a second, open entrance end, and an exit connected to a second transport route portion by a first exit end and a second, open exit end. A common movement path is formed at least in some portions in a region of a first transfer position, and the transport unit is movable along the path. To be turned around, the transport unit is moved to the entrance of the turnaround portion, transferred from the entrance to the exit of the turnaround portion, and moved from the exit of the turnaround portion.

To provide a simple and flexibly usable transport device in the form of a long stator linear motor, which enables a movement of a transport unit of the transport device in several different planes, it is provided according to the invention that a transition segment including a continuous-flow conveyor having a longitudinal axis is provided, adjoining the starting point or the ending point of the transport track in the longitudinal direction, for transporting the transport unit in a direction of movement extending along the longitudinal axis, wherein the continuous-flow conveyor is provided to move the transport unit in the direction of movement at least sectionally in a conveying plane deviating from the movement plane of the transport track.
