A method of performing CSFB in an IMS comprises receiving, at a TAS, an incoming voice call for a UE attached to an EPS; paging the UE by the first ICS GW; receiving, by a second ICS GW associated with a second CS RAN currently connected to the UE, a Location Update message from the UE, the Location Update message containing a first CSFB indicator; transmitting, by the second ICS GW, a Registration message to the TAS, the Registration message containing a second CSFB indicator in response to the first CSFB indicator in the Location Update message; transmitting, by the TAS, a Cancel message to the first ICS GW; and transmitting, by the TAS, an Invite message to the second ICS GW to complete the voice call with the UE.

System and method for circuit switched fallback in IMS centralized services

Systems and methods are provided for facilitating communications with an operating system suspended OTT application on a user device. The methods include sending, from a P-CSCF or a WebRTC Gateway, to a push notification framework, a notification configured to cause the push notification framework to send a push notification to the suspended OTT application (IMS OTT application or WebRTC OTT application). The push notification may wake up the OTT application and cause a notification initiated REGISTRATION request to be sent by the OTT application. This can be initiated just before the IMS core network de-registers the OTT application based on a timer, or based on receipt of a SIP request (e.g. phone call received) when the OTT application is suspended. In addition, the push notification provides a lightweight authentication at the P-CSCF instead of a full blown authentication at the usual place S-CSCF.

Systems and methods for interworking with over the top applications in communications network

Communication systems and methods suitable for use in a Multiple Line Multiple Device service environment, involving a native line and a second shared line, are disclosed. Logic at one or more nodes and application servers is configured to ensure that network handover data, or other information, is only updated for the native line registration but not the shared line. Then when a call is placed or received on the shared line, the call is anchored to the native line based on that network handover data. If, during that call, a request is received to handover the call from a first network having a first communication protocol to a second network having a second communication protocol, the handover occurs based on the anchored native line. In one example embodiment the first network is a Packet Switched network and the second network is a Circuit Switched network.

Systems and methods for single radio voice call continuity in a multi-line, multi-device service environment in a communications network

A method for switch user equipment from a Long Term Evolution system to a Circuit Switched system when receiving a voice call is disclosed. The method may comprise: receiving, at an IWF (Internet Working Function) network node, a Mobility Application Part Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (MAP USSD) message identifying a User Equipment (UE) originated from a USSD application, the UE associated with a first Mobile Switching Center (MSC); initiating Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB) by sending a paging request to the UE; receiving a Cancel Location message associated with the UE from a Home Location Register (HLR) indicative of the UE being associated with a second MSC; forwarding the MAP USSD message to the UE via the HLR and the second MSC; receiving a MAP USSD response message from the UE via the HLR; and forwarding the MAP USSD response message to the USSD application.

A telecommunication network comprises an ICS GW configured to receive an access request from a UE; an HSS FE configured to retrieve A3/A8 authentication vectors including an A3/A8 authentication response from an HLR, and further configured to encode the A3/A8 authentication vectors as AKA authentication vectors and send the AKA authentication parameters to an S-CSCF; the ICS GW configured to receive an authentication challenge from the S-CSCF with encoded A3/A8 authentication vectors, and further configured to detect the A3/A8 authentication vectors and issue an A3/A8 authentication challenge to the UE; and the ICS GW configured to receive an A3/A8 authentication response from the UE, and further to encode the A3/A8 authentication response into an AKA authentication response and sending it to the S-CSCF for comparison.

The present disclosure includes a system and method for discovering network elements. In some implementations, a method includes identifying information indicating a location of a femtocell device. A communication node associated with the femtocell device is identified. A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message including the location information is transmitted to the identified communication node. A response is received requesting that the femtocell device register with a different communication node associated with a cellular core network at least proximate the location.

In some implementations, a method includes presenting a network node as a Visited Location Resource (VLR) for User Equipment (UE) to Mobile Management Entity (MME) in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system. The network node includes an SGs interface to the MME in the LTE system and a MAP interface to a Mobile Switching Center (MSC) in a Cellular System (CS). A notification of the UE registering the LTE system is received from the MME. A network node registers, through the MAP interface, with a Home Location Resource (HLR) in the CS as the VLR for the UE.
