According to some embodiments, a method of operation of a wireless transmitter in a wireless communication network comprises: encoding a set of information carrying data bits u of length K with a linear outer code to generate a set of outer parity bits p along with the data bits u; interleaving the set of outer parity bits p and the data bits u using a predetermined interleaving mapping function that depends on the number of data bits K and is operable to distribute some bits of the set of parity bits p in front of some data bits u; and encoding the interleaved bits using a Polar encoder to generate a set of encoded bits x. Various interleaving mapping functions are disclosed.

A method for a controller to execute a program comprising a sequence of functions on an accelerator with a pipelined architecture comprising a microcode buffer. The method comprises executing a function of the program as a sequence of operations, wherein the sequence of operations is represented by a sequence of templates, determining whether the template is non-colliding with previously inserted templates in the microcode buffer, determining whether data in local memory will be referenced before all previously inserted templates have taken effect, determining whether registers will be referenced before all previously inserted templates in the microcode buffer have taken effect, when it is determined that the template fits, that resources are available, that local data memory accesses will not collide, and that register accesses will not collide: creating a sequence of microcode instructions in the template, and inserting the template into the microcode buffer.

According to some embodiments, a method of operation of a transmit node in a wireless communication system comprises performing polar encoding of a set of K information bits to thereby generate a set of polar-encoded information bits. The K information bits are mapped to the first K bit locations in an information sequence S. The information sequence Sis a ranked sequence of N information bit locations among a plurality of input bits for the polar encoding where N is equivalent to a code length. A size of the information sequence Sis greater than or equal to K. The information sequence Sis optimized for the specific value of the code length (N). The method may further comprise transmitting the set of polar-encoded information bits.

A method is disclosed for a centralized unit (CU) of a wireless communication network, wherein the CU is associated with each of one or more remote units (RU) of the wireless communication network via a respective communication interface. The CU is adapted to operate in one of a plurality of modes including at least a normal operation mode and a power saving operation mode, and the normal operation mode defines a plurality of functions to be performed by the CU. The method comprises (when the CU is in the normal operation mode) determining that a traffic load associated with the one or more RU fulfills a power saving operation criterion, configuring&#x2014;via the respective communication interface each of the RU for autonomous operation, whereby each of the RU is configured to execute at least one of the plurality of functions, and transferring from the normal operation mode to the power saving operation mode. Methods and systems described herein are directed to encoding information bits for transmission. The methods can include receiving a set of information bits () and determining a set of parity check bits (). The set of information bits is concatenated with the set of parity check bits (), and the information bits are polar encoded into a set of information bits and frozen bits (). The encoded set of information bits is transmitted to a wireless receiver (). In particular embodiments, each parity check bit in the set of parity check bits is the binary sum of the values of all bits in front of it. Other embodiments include generating a set of parity check bits based on a systematic block code on the least reliable bits of the set of information bits. The methods and systems described herein may be applied to 3GPP 5G mobile communication systems.

Simple parity-check bit computation for polar codes

A method in a transmitter circuit of generating a signal comprising a first sequence of OFDM symbols, which are to be transmitted within a frequency sub band of a second sequence of OFDM symbols is disclosed. A first cyclic prefix (CP) of the second sequence of OFDM symbols has a first duration, and a second CP of the second sequence of OFDM symbols has a second duration. In order to generate both the first and the second cyclic prefix with an integer number of equidistant samples, a first sampling rate is required. The method comprises generating the signal comprising the first sequence of OFDM symbols at a second sampling rate, lower than the first sampling rate, and adjusting a sampling phase during CPs.

Disclosed is a receiver circuit comprising an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) circuit having an analog input, a clock input, and a digital output, and a clock divider circuit having a reference clock input and a phase selector input, and having a clock output coupled to the clock input of the ADC circuit. The clock divider circuit is configured to divide a reference clock signal coupled to the reference clock input at a reference clock frequency, to produce a clock output signal at an ADC clock frequency, at the clock output, such that the reference clock frequency is an integer multiple N of the ADC clock frequency. The clock divider circuit is further configured to select from among a plurality of selectable phases of the clock output signal, responsive to a phase selector signal applied to the phase selector input.

Receiver circuit and methods

According to some embodiments, a method in a wireless device comprises obtaining a set of information bits for wireless transmission and dividing the set of information bits into one or more subsets of information bits. For each subset, generating extra cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits using a CRC polynomial capable of generating N CRC bits. The extra CRC bits for each subset comprise less than N CRC bits. The method further comprises: generating a final set of N or less CRC bits for the set of information bits using the CRC polynomial; generating a set of coded bits by encoding the set of information bits for wireless transmission, together with the extra CRC bits and the final set of CRC bits, using a polar encoder; and transmitting the set of coded bits using a wireless transmitter.

Distributed CRC-assisted polar code construction

Methods and devices for puncturing of a polar code in a wireless network, wherein nested puncturing sets are determined based on a puncturing order which is determined based on a reliability order of information bit channels, so that only one index sequence needs to be stored for both the determination of the information set and the determination of the punctured set and so that puncturing does not require to adjust the information set at error prone indexes corresponding to puncturing indexes. The puncturing order might start with indexes corresponding to high reliability bit channels or to low reliability bit channels.
