Systems and methods for coordinating and providing towing acceleration assistance between towing vehicles and towed vehicles during vehicle towing events are disclosed. The towing acceleration assistance may be provided by the towed vehicle in the form of an assistive propulsive torque to assist the towing vehicle with acceleration during the towing event when one or more vehicle conditions indicate a need for the towing acceleration assistance. The towing acceleration assistance may end when the one or more vehicle conditions no longer indicate the need for the towing acceleration assistance.

Systems and methods for providing towing acceleration assistance during in-flight charging of electrified vehicles

This disclosure describes vehicle climate control systems and methods for more intelligently controlling an occupant comfort level within a vehicle interior in a manner that minimizes energy usage of the vehicle. The climate control system may be automatically controlled in an economical mode (i.e., ECO mode) when certain vehicle conditions are met. For example, the decision to activate the ECO mode of the climate control system may be a function of one or more variables including, but not limited to, vehicle speed, vehicle speed differentials, ambient temperatures, temperature differentials, battery state of charge, predicted low battery state of charge, etc.

Smart vehicle heating and cooling systems and methods

This disclosure relates to an electrified vehicle having remote terminals accessible via a charging port door. An example electrified vehicle a charging port configured to couple to a plug to charge the electrified vehicle, and remote terminals. The electrified vehicle can be jump started via the remote terminals. Further, the electrified vehicle includes a charging port door moveable between a closed position, a normal open position in which the charging port is accessible such that a plug may couple to the charging port to charge the electrified vehicle, and an extended open position in which the charging port door has moved beyond the normal open position. The remote terminals are accessible when the charging port door is in the extended open position.

A vehicle steering wheel is provided that includes a rim having a core structure, a plurality of heaters surrounding at least a portion of the core structure to define a plurality of heating zones, at least one sensor for sensing location of a user's hand on the steering wheel, and a controller controlling the plurality of heaters to activate one or more of the heaters based on the sensed location of the hand.
