A drive unit () for a vehicle seat, in particular for a motor vehicle seat, has a motor (), a gear unit which is provided on the drive output side of the motor () which has at least a drive output wheel which is rotatably supported about a core axis (K). The drive output wheel is provided with a core () which is rotatable about the core axis (K). The core () has a shaft receptacle () for a drive shaft () with a shaft axis (W) as central axis. The core axis (K) and the shaft axis (W) are offset in parallel by an eccentricity.

A gear step () for an actuator in a motor vehicle, in particular for a vehicle seat, comprises a housing () provided with a drive () mounted thereon in such a way that it is rotatable around an axis (A), and a driven output () rotatable about a second axis (B) differing from the axes (A). In a drive () for a vehicle seat adjuster (), having a manually pivotable drive lever (), which can be deflected out of a neutral position in order, after an element () has engaged in a drive wheel (), to produce a directed rotational movement of an output element (), at least one sliding element () which is moveable in a translatory manner is provided as the element which is to be engaged.
