A crossflow filter device for filtering a pressurised feed liquid is provided. The crossflow filter device comprises: a filter membrane; a flow channel for the pressurised feed liquid which extends in a path over a retentate surface of the membrane such that the direction of flow in the channel is tangential to the retentate surface, and a filtrate derived from the feed liquid passes through the membrane leaving retentate liquid in the flow channel; and a collection chamber for the filtrate formed on an opposite, filtrate surface of the membrane. The crossflow filter device further comprises a sealed housing having a retentate side and a filtrate side which enclose therebetween the flow channel, the filter membrane and the collection chamber. The crossflow filter device further comprises, flow channel guide walls provided at an inner surface of the retentate side of the housing. The guide walls are configured to form a fluid tight seal with the filter membrane, and thereby define the path of the flow channel over the retentate surface of the membrane.

A bioreactor for use on a moving platform including a bag. According to a first aspect, the bag defines a three-dimensional geometrical shape including at least one lower collecting vertex in which at least two edges of the geometrical shape meet at an angle not greater than 90°. Disclosed is a connection system for releasably coupling a first body () with a flange () to a fluid-conducting system in a force-fitting manner, and the invention also relates to a connection system for releasably coupling the interior of a first fluid-conducting body () to the interior of a second fluid-conducting body () in a force-fitting manner. The second body () has a second end with a circumferential wall (), a membrane contact portion () which can be found on the wall, and an opening (). A retaining element () has a passage () and a peripheral outer edge (). One side and/or the passage () of the retaining element () is coupled to the membrane (), and an annular wall () is arranged on the same side, said annular wall being connected to the circumferential wall () of the second body (). The other side is designed to contact the surface of the flange () of the first body (). The retaining element () can also be integrated into the second body () when the first body () is fluid-conductive. The releasable connection element () is designed to at least partly surround the peripheral outer edge () of the retaining element () and the flange () of the first body ().

A method for assembling a mixer-container intended for receiving a biopharmaceutical fluid includes providing a container with a mixing device including at least one shaft having an adjustable length, and at least one first bearing attached to a wall of the container, the shaft extending at least into the inner space from the first bearing; a rigid outer device that compresses the container; and a drive motor located outside the container, the first bearing of the container is placed so as to be spaced apart from the motor, and the length of the shaft is adjusted along the main axis by arranging the shaft opposite the motor to enable the motor to rotate the shaft.

A connecting system () has at least one connector () for a filter cassette () that can be inserted into a filter holder and has filter layers () between two end plates (), and seals () between the filter layers () and/or between the end plates () and an adjacent filter layer (). The connector has tensioning parts that engage in one another in a longitudinally displaceable manner and that can be fixed to the end plates () via their ends facing away from one another. The connector exerts a pretensioning force onto the end plates () when it is deflected to its maximum extent. The pretensioning force pulls the end plates () towards the filter layers (), and when a contact-pressure force superimposed on the pretensioning force is applied to the end plates (), the tensioning parts can be pushed towards one another correspondingly with the end plates ().

A mixing vessel includes a flexible container, elements for mixing its contents, aeration elements, a drain/lower bearing port having a rigid flange provided with a drain passage, attached in a tight manner to the lower portion of the container wall, supporting a lower bearing that is adjacent to the drain passage. The vessel includes an extended element for dispensing aeration gas and is spaced essentially radially from the drain/bearing port; at least one tubular element for dispensing aeration gas extends from the extended dispensing element, in the inside space, along the inside surface of the lower portion and the side portion of the wall of the container and extends on the outside of the container from the upper portion; at least one mixing element is spaced essentially from the lower portion of the container wall, from the lower bearing, and from at least one extended element for dispensing aeration gas.

Process for closing and cutting into sections a flexible tube, with a cutting element and a pinching closing device for cutting into sections with two cross-sections, each with two parts with indentations that can be placed in removable extension by combination elements and that make a passage with an access, whereby the pinching closing device is in the open or closed state where the cross-sections are closed by locking members and where the surfaces form a pinching closing passage of the tube; the pinching region of the tube is positioned in the indentation of a cross-section; the other cross-section is brought opposite the preceding one and the pinching closing device in the closed state, with cooperation of the locking elements, the tube being positively pinched and closed in two positive pinching zones, and thus held in place; the tube is cut into sections between the parts in the closed state, using the cutting element by passing it into the passage without it interfering with the pinching closing device; and the parts are dissociated.

The pinching device includes two cross-sections, each having a hollow part with a male indentation and a female indentation, and locking elements, whereby the surfaces of the indentations form a positive pinching passage of the tube; the male indentation has a U shape with a core and two wings; the female indentation has a U shape with a core and two wings; and the pinching passage has a U shape with a core and two wings; the two opposite wings will draw together toward their ends that are opposite to the cores of the indentations, and each of the two wings of the pinching passage has an opening whose width will diminish towards its end that is opposite to the core of the pinching passage; the width of the opening of the pinching passage is at most slightly smaller than twice the thickness of the wall of the flexible tube to be pinched, and, designed to constitute a pinching closing device, it is disposable, performing a function of closing the tube on itself in the pinching region, preventing any passage of fluid into the tube.

A sensor protector is intended to reduce the sensitivity of the optical sensor () to radiation products which, for example, are formed during sterilization with gamma radiation and to ensure simple and cost-effective manufacture. The sensor protector includes an upper part (), a lower part () and an optical sensor (). The optical sensor () situated on the lower part is positionable in an offset manner with respect to an opening () situated in the upper part and movable by means of displacement toward the opening () of the upper part (). The sensor protector is suitable for use in containers and laboratory products that are sterilized by gamma radiation, for example disposable bioreactors.

A closure for a container has an upper part () that can be connected to the container. The upper part () has an opening () and an outer hollow body (). An inner hollow body () is arranged coaxially in the outer hollow body () with an intermediate space therebetween. A lower part () in the form of a hollow body can be displaced longitudinally in the intermediate space. A plug () is held coaxially in the lower part () and opens or closes the opening as the lower part () is displaced longitudinally in the intermediate space.
