An electrical protective circuit arrangement includes: a first outer conductor path and a second outer conductor path, the first outer conductor path being arranged in parallel with the second outer conductor path in terms of circuit technology; a second semiconductor circuit arrangement arranged in the first outer conductor path; a first current measuring arrangement arranged in the first outer conductor path and being connected to a first electronic control unit, the first electronic control unit driving the second semiconductor circuit arrangement; a fourth semiconductor circuit arrangement arranged in the second outer conductor path; a second current measuring arrangement arranged in the second outer conductor path and being connected to a second electronic control unit, the second electronic control unit driving the fourth semiconductor circuit arrangement. The first electronic control unit and the second electronic control unit are connected in terms of communications technology.

Electrical protective circuit arrangement

A DC circuit breaker includes: a first current section of a first electrical polarity from a first supply terminal of the DC circuit breaker to a first load terminal of the DC circuit breaker; a second current section of a second electrical polarity from a second supply terminal of the DC circuit breaker to a second load terminal of the DC circuit breaker; a mechanical bypass switch arranged in the first current section or the second current section, the mechanical bypass switch having at least one bypass switch excitation coil; a first semiconductor circuit arrangement connected in parallel with the mechanical bypass switch; an electronic control unit of the DC circuit breaker for actuating the first semiconductor circuit arrangement; a second semiconductor circuit arrangement to be actuated by the electronic control unit, which second semiconductor circuit arrangement is connected to the bypass switch excitation coil by circuitry.

Direct current circuit breaker device

A low-voltage circuit breaker includes: at least one external conductor section from an external conductor power terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker to an external conductor load terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker; a neutral conductor section from a neutral conductor terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker to a neutral conductor load terminal of the low-voltage circuit breaker; a mechanical bypass switch arranged in the external conductor section; a semiconductor circuit arrangement switched in parallel to the bypass switch; an electronic control unit; and a first current measuring arrangement arranged in the external conductor section, the first current measuring arrangement including a first shunt, which is connected to the electronic control unit. The electronic control unit actuates the mechanical bypass switch and the semiconductor circuit arrangement upon detecting a prespecifiable overcurrent that includes a short circuit current, by the current measuring arrangement.

Low-voltage circuit breaker

A low-voltage circuit breaker device includes: a first outer conductor line and at least one first bypass line, the first outer conductor line being arranged in the circuit in parallel to the at least one first bypass line; a first mechanical bypass switch arranged in the first outer conductor line; first semiconductor circuit assembly connected in parallel to the first bypass switch; a second semiconductor circuit assembly arranged in the circuit in series with the first bypass switch and parallel to the first semiconductor circuit assembly in the first outer conductor line; a first current measuring assembly, which is connected to a first electronic control unit, arranged in the first outer conductor line, the first electronic control unit being arranged to actuate the first bypass switch, the first semiconductor circuit assembly, and the second semiconductor circuit assembly; and a second mechanical bypass switch arranged in the first bypass line.

Electrical circuit breaker assembly

A method for distinguishing an arc from a luminous gas at least containing metal vapor includes sensing light in a monitoring region and determining a first intensity Iof the sensed light at a first wavelength &#x3bb;and a second intensity Iof the sensed light at a second, greater wavelength &#x3bb;. The ratio I/Ibetween the first intensity Iand the second intensity Iis determined. The sensed light is associated with an arc if said ratio I/Iis greater than a specifiable first threshold value and/or with a luminous gas at least containing metal vapor if said ratio I/Iis less than a specifiable second threshold value.

Method for distinguishing an arc from a luminous gas containing at least metal vapor

A direct current arc chute includes a ferromagnetic base having first and second ends; first and second ferromagnetic side members disposed from the respective first and second ends; a third ferromagnetic member disposed from the base intermediate the side members and having an end portion opposite the base; and first and second magnets on the respective first and second members have a magnetic polarity facing the third member. A first arc chamber is between the first and third members; and a second arc chamber is between the second and third members. The first magnet and first member extend away from the first end and beyond the end portion, and toward the second magnet and second member after the end portion. The second magnet and second member extend away from the second end and beyond the end portion, and toward the first magnet and first member after the end portion.

Single direct current arc chute, and bi-directional direct current electrical switching apparatus employing the same

A residual-current circuit breaker includes at least one summation current transformer through which a first lead and a second lead of a network to be protected are guided. At least one secondary winding is arranged on the summation current transformer and operatively connected, at least indirectly, with an energy storage element. A trip element is operatively connected with break contacts in the first and second leads. In order to reduce expected cut-offs of a network to be protected, an electric signaling device is operatively connected, at least indirectly, with the energy storage element.

Residual-current circuit breaker

A switching device for disconnecting and switching at least one line of a power supply is disclosed. The switching device may be, for example, a residual-current-operated protective device or a combination switch and includes a line-voltage-independent trigger device, a trigger element, such as a trigger relay, associated with the line-voltage-independent trigger device, as well as a line-voltage-dependent trigger device. The line-voltage-dependent trigger device has means for triggering the trigger element that is associated with the line-voltage-independent trigger device. The switching device has a simple construction, a reduced number of components, and also an enhanced functional reliability compared to a conventional switching device.
